USB Extension port

I recently purchased a multiple USB port cause I'm using a hard drive on the other port and I tried using keyboard and mouse it doesn't work can someone help?

Xbox don't have support for such devices, but all consoles have 3 USB ports, 1 in the Front / side and 2 on the back

From what I understand you can plug the play and charge kit USB into anything like a laptop or any other powered USB port. But as for the disconnect problem, there are two types of USB extensions. You should just need to get an 'Active' Usb repeater extension
and it should work.

You can also use the standard USB connection on the new consoles. The only difference with the Kinect port on the new console is that it also supplies the power, whereas if you use the standard usb ports, you have to have the separate power supply, which
comes with the Kinect sensor if you buy the standalone model. Then you can just get a USB extension cable. Or as Frill Kill said, they make extension cables for the Kinect port as well.

Sorry to revive a long dead post but I've got an update about the situation.

I bought a 2TB Seagate external that people had said worked, and it does.

But only if I'm using my side USB port on my Xbox.

I was running the original enclosure on a USB 3 extension and I'd tried both rear ports with and without the extension but it still failed to pick up as a Games drive, tried it in the side port with the extension and without, they both pick up correctly.

Now I'm confused.

Actually, it turns out the rear ports are recessed which prevented the USB stick from connecting properly. Using short USB extension cable works.
