    USB-Devices (Skylanders-Portal) switch off after half a minute


    Xbox360, about 3 years old:

    After pluging in a USB-device (skylanders giants portal), the device is recognized and can be used - for about 30 seconds.

    Then the device is rejectet. Ingame error message states that the device is no longer connected. After plugging it off and on again, it can be used another 30 seconds.

    - changing the device has no effect. I bought a second portal that shows the same symptoms.

    - changing the usb slot has no effect. Tested front and back.

    - timeintervall when the device can be used seems to shorten

    Is the usb-controller of the xbox deffective? Is this a known issue?

    Forza goes back to Startscreen!!!

    Have you got any usb devices plugged in? I had the same problem with xbox fitness. It came down to a compatibility issue with my sons Skylanders usb portal being plugged in. If I unplugged it and reboot xbox fitness would then open without a problem.

    skylanders portal causing feedback issue on headset

    Is anyone else having issues with using a headset while the skylanders trap team portal is plugged in at the same time?

    I have skylanders trap team and the Astros A40. Both devices are powered through the USB on the Xbox one. No matter what combination of USB ports I use the people in chat with me hear a constant buzz. This happens in game chat and party chat. I have tried
    doing a hard reboot with no luck... When I unplug the portal the buzz immediately stops. When I plug it back in the buzz starts again.

    I don't believe a device plugged in on a different USB port should be interfering with a different device....

    Anyone has some helpful advise?

    I'm having the same issue as well. My 360 received updates, and since then, the Portal of Power sends to randomly be recognized. Unplugged it, reinserted, recognized the device only to become not recognized once
    again. How do we fix this?

    How many truly broken Kinects?

    I had an issue with my Kinect sensor switching on and off. The problem turned out to be the Skylanders portal connected the the USB port on the back of the Xbox.

    I suspect that anything that draws power from the USB port could cause the Kinect sensor to stop working properly

    So just to be clear, there are no USB devices connected to your console at all when trying to play the disc? You've even removed the Skylander's Portal from the console?

    I moved the HDD to the back port and tried the skylanders portal on the side usb and it still doesn't work. I guess there's something wrong with the portals for the 2 games. At least I know the usb ports on my xbox one are okay.
