    Hey, guys! I no updates at this time, but we are still actively working on getting this resolved. Once I do have more information, I assure you that I will post in here what I've got.

    I am still looking for the hard/flash drive models you guys are using if you run into this, as well as the file types you are using. I am passing that information along to the investigating teams so that they can see if they can reproduce what you are running

    just finished chatting with xbox support and they want me to send my xbox one back for this issue. looks like no xbox for 2-3 weeks. has me reminiscing when i had to send the 360 back and forth

    there is a known issue with ext hdds hibernating when there little activity and it just goes into some kind of power saving mode like hibernating, check if that's the problem, this will happen and any system.

    I'm getting the same problem while streaming from my Windows 8.1 PC. I had almost no problems streaming from my Windows 7 PC. It would happen occasionally, but now it happens 2 seconds in. Sometimes files won't even open. .mp3, .mp4, .avi, .mkv. It doesn't
    matter. They all close.

  5. Hey there, DropDeadArtemus! I'm very sorry to see any issues with streaming. Your situation is different from those using external hard drives and flash drives to play their items. If you could, please post up a new thread detailing what you're running into
    and troubleshooting you've completed. This way we can get you the individual support that works best on the forums. usb device unavailable :)

  7. Hey there, MeetingwTheBOBs! It seems like you didn't provide what exact devices you are having an issue with. I understand that there are several you are running into. Please post up the model of the each device you are running into this with so that I can

  9. It's alright Quinzel I have just listed the Xbox One on Ebay. Between the USB issues and the Stereo Headset adapter static/popping/disconnecting audio (that is not present on my PC or PS4) I have decided to sell the console.

    Hopefully this gets fixed in the future for the new owner. That said this was my first and last Xbox device.

    Misses Quinzel, honestly, i do not believe you are sorry to see 'MeetingwTheBOBs' go. To be honest, i don't think Microsoft are or will be sorry to see anyone go with this issue as it is not important enough or warrants any time to fix it. Constantly you
    say the relevant team are working on this but since the app was released in October, the issue has been there and never once have i had a reply, update or release fix to try and at least make the app work properly.

    I know gaming is the key purpose of the console but to be honest, not for me and possibly many others, as it is a media outlet which i thought was the answer to all my options of having a console, media player and sky box all in one, it seems not......

    I too will probably sell my Xbox One, and i have been committed to the console since launch date and bought each new version of Xbox consoles on day one. Is this a small threat to make Microsoft tremor in the fact i leave, NO, but at least i do not need
    to post in forums any longer, wait for you to reply with an update that actually tells me nothing and only say that the team is investigating the issue. (is there a team????)

    Honestly, i would get rid of the investigating team as they do not seem to be doing anything, and if they are not able to fix this issue since October why have them there, this is awful from an I.T point of view. 6 months later we still report the issue
    through many forums and threads and you STILL need make and models of hard drives or USB devices, then you are only delaying the fix, not helping the fix.

    I would rather Microsoft be honest and say, we have no idea rather than drag out the issue to make it worse by pretending to us all the issue can be fixed. Maybe this is the start of many other smaller issues with the console and actually this will lead
    to consoles being sold or returned. If the issue is a console fault then October last year when this issue happened, most consoles were within their 12month warranty. Now you have dragged out the issue, this warranty has lapsed so will Microsoft still honour
    the warranty, like they did with the 360 red rings of death????

    I have a 2 year warranty on my console, so i will not wait until November this year to STILL wait for a fix, and i think Microsoft are hoping we just sit back and wait to make sure they make a fortune from us all paying to get the console fixed or something.
    I do not know what new fault or pre existing fault already sits within my console, so possibly you are covering something up and not wanting to fix this app as maybe you just can't?

    A long Email thread here and sorry for that but you offer nothing in your responses other than, send USB details, team investigating, understand frustrations etc etc. Not once have you or Microsoft said 'here is an update for those who sent us the below
    Hard drive and USB make model details etc' .

    I mean, let's all speak openly, we know this is not a USB or Hard drive fault, otherwise we will also be making a claim against these companies that their devices are faulty, which we know they work perfectly well with EVERY other device OTHER than the Xbox
    One Media Player.

    Save face a little and just tell us that it is a fault and a fix will be released, otherwise, i will not sell the console like the above user, i will just ask for my money back on my faulty console as it is within warranty and does not work as Microsoft
    advertised.....

  12. Hey there, Carbon. I actually am truly sorry to see him leave because of any issues that he may be running into. I completely understand everyone's frustrations here. I am unable to provide an update if I am not given one, though. I can assure you there
    IS a team that is working on it. As I have stated previously, once I have more information, I will post in here again with that. Until then, I am gathering the required information for the investigation teams so that they can look into this.

    Additionally, the only way to get a refund for the console is to take it back to the retailer you purchased it from. Our warranty only works in cases of replacing the console, not reimbursement. Please be aware that different retailers have different return
    policies.

    Misses Quinzel i think you are missing the point....you have written more text about how Microsoft will not refund me for the console purchase than you have about any update from this magical investigation team (yes i have resorted to sarcasm to make my
    time on this forum enjoyable rather than depressing).

    Not one update in 6-7 months, is pretty embarrassing and for a company as large as Microsoft with all the technology and innovations you claim to have in progress, you are not able to provide a small update on a Media Player app as to when it will be fixed......but
    you have glasses on the way which offer virtual reality.....seems crazy right????

    I realise you are the voice of the forum and it is your job to field the questions and comments but honestly, i am not sure you do understand the frustrations as you do not experience them each and every hour of each and every day....We do.....

    Imagine having your mobile phone (probably not a Nokia Lumia as they are awful, but a decent mobile phone) and each time you make a call or emergency call, it cuts out after 10-20 seconds and you need to redial again and again and press the correct options
    to get back through to the correct department only to be cut off again and again, then go through the same process......FOREVER.....

    This is maybe how i feel, and when i try and chat to Microsoft or add a comment to a forum or Facebook or Twitter any messages to the account, someone at the other end is tasked to write comments or phrases to make it sound as though something is being done.
    Maybe they write back or say things like ' understand your frustrations' or 'investigating team looking at the issue' or 'need more examples' or 'sorry to see you leave' etc.....when all we want is someone to have the balls to get it fixed or say it won't
    be fixed.

    I know this is not your fault directly but you work for the company who has supplied me with a faulty machine, and yes you are covered by your warranty fob me off approach and yes you can shove us all towards the retailer etc but ultimately, Microsoft suffer
    as it is your console which is poorly developed, your reputation which is lowered in our opinions and ultimately your customers who will soon be ex customers because someone decided to give this magical Investigations team all the time in the world to do what
    we have all done for you already which is, send our investigations and device names etc.

    Are there any development teams who can deal with it as i think we are beyond investigation now...........????????

  14. Hey, Carbon! Unfortunately, only Official Support offer support within the Support forums as employees at Microsoft. There are a few Official Staff people you may see around here, however they are very few and far in between.

    While this may have been happening to you for 6-7 months, we only gathered enough reports of it a couple months ago. You have to understand that we cannot reproduce this in house. This is why we ask for devices so that the investigating teams can test out
    everything. It is being worked on, but I have no further information other than that.

    Again, once I do have more information, I will be able to provide that for you. Until then, I am gathering the information required to look into this as requested by the investigating teams.
