  1. Usb connectivity and compatibility issues?

    Hello,

Im currently experiencing issues with Usb drives as the Xbox doesnt seem to be detecting it and/or not compatible with the system? Ive attempted numerous usb thumb drives formatted in NTFS and fat32 but the xbox doesnt detect them however the one thumb that
did work was a 256mb drive and had been formatted previously for use as a windows boot/install device...does anybody know if this may be a software or hardware issue..think it will be addressed and fixed in the upcoming dashboard update?..is anybody else experiencing
    the same issues?

    :)

    USB compatibility.

I use my MU between my Xbox 360 Slim and my friends Xbox 360 Elite console without any problems. I have a Sandisk 20GB MU. It might be your MU.

  3. USB compatibility.

I'm trying to use a stick between two consoles. My Elite and a friends new style. I keep having to reformat is there away around this?

What's the point of changing how the consoles if we can't use devices between, unless this is just a way of ringing money out of customers.

What exactly are you trying to do with your thumbdrive?

The mediaplayer app works with USB 2.0 thumbdrives and recognizes them, as soon as there are some media files on it.

To store gamedata on an usb drive it has to be an USB 3.0 drive and has to be formatted by the xbox to be accessible by your One.

Formats like FAT32 and NTFS will be recognized. Afaik there is no size limit, I have an 16gb USB stick which is recognized immediatly by the one.

Are you having a media file like mpg or mp3 on your thumbstick?

  7. no matter what files i put , the xbox wont recognize the drive..after investigating the 2 drives information..i noticed that the 256mb drive as it was formatted to boot/install windows OS previously at one time..pops up on windows7 as a local drive in which
this thumb drive is recognized by the xbox but when i put in the other 4gb thumb drive it shows under as removable storage on my windows7 and isnt recognized by the xbox one...

    Usb connectivity and compatibility issues?

Hmm. Usually USB sticks show up as local drives so this should make no difference.

(Just checked this to be sure with both my USB drives, one with 2 and one with 16 gb, both working on my one.)

Is there any difference when you assign a drive letter to the thumb drive on your pc and insert it into the one then?

Is it a "real" thumb drive or just an adapter for memory cards?

  9. You need to open your media player preview to see what media files you have and to play them.

Yapper, you can also go to settings / storage and choose the drive there, it will then be opened in the media player app. So if it is not showing up there it's not recognized.

Dang... ok then. No more ideas on that. maybe it's in fact some sort of incompatibility or the drive is damaged somehow. At least be sure you usually are not restricted by is size and is format as this is working here with bigger sizes without any problems.
    .

Sri I cannot help you with that.
