USB Configure Menu Will Not Appear

I have a Kingston 4GB Data Traveler that has been formatted to FAT32. I want to use it to transfer Skyrim save data from my Xbox 360 (which has up-to date software) to a friend's. When I plug the USB into my Xbox and and navigate to "System Settings">"Storage",
there is no menu that says "Configure USB Device", like I see in online tutorials. There is a menu that says "USB Storage Device", over which I can hover and press "Y" to access the device options. I select "Format", and it shows the device has been formatted
successfully. However, any reference to "Configuring" the USB is completely absent from the menus. The Xbox seems to instantly recognize the device as a USB without configuration, but I am unable to move data with it because I cannot configure it. I have
tried formatting and copying data many times with two different (working) USBs and no luck.

Plug the USB Drive into your computer, go to My Computer, or Computer in the start menu (depending on what Operating system you use)

Right click on your USB Drive that you have configured for use with your xbox, and click Format.

That's all you need to do.

Yes, just delete the Xbox folder withing the USB, it may be hidden though.

 

The option to configure or customize a USB stick has been removed with the last update.

It's possible to undo the update, configure your USB stick and than update the xbox again.

 

So how do USBs work in the new software version then?

 

You can still copy stuff from your xbox HD to a USB drive, but not the other way around.
