So I am thinking of doing for same for the xbox series x but let's start with the original xbox one from 2015. So the internal hard drive is connected via sata 2 to an sata 3 adapter, since sata is connected to the board it's sata 2 speeds. Now the xbox
one has 3 usb 3.0 ports, according to Google USB 3.0 (also known as SuperSpeed
USB) has a maximum bandwidth rate of 5 gbps (gigabits per second). That translates to 640 MBps (megabytes per second)—ten times faster than
USB 2.0 (aka Hi-Speed USB). So I have the crucial SSD mx300 that goes like 560mbps read/write speed. So going back to the question, I have usb 3.0 to sata 3 adapter with this ssd plugged into an usb 3.0 port of the xbox. Are
the games being loaded at that full hard drive speed? Same can be done for the series x as it has usb 3.0 speed which supports 10gbps which should translate to 1280 MBps

    :)

How to use an external HDD/SSD with the Xbox One?

What do you mean by USB 3.0 to USB see? The Xbox has no USB-C ports.

If this is a USB-C hard drive, and you’re using an adapter to a standard 3.0 a connector, it’s quite possible that the adapter is interfering with the drives, the speed being properly detected, which is why you’re not getting the option to format. the same thing happens with display port adapters.

Yes, i see now. I was not understanding why its 600mb if it had 6 gbps

You're confusing things. USB 3.1 gen 1 maxes out at 6 Gbps (Gigabit per second) or 600 MB/s (MegaBytes per second).

XBOX Series X uses PCIE 4.0 x2. This compressed manages 4.8 GB/s (GigaBytes).

You're getting your gigabit and Gigabytes mixed up.

For series x there is an nvme adapter/enclosure to usb 3.1 it should be able to match/exceed the internal storage and expansion though right? With the right nvme ofc
It can't match it for speed. The SSD in the console (the internal drive) is likely connected directly into the motherboard. The expansion card slot is a PCIE 4.0 connector. PCIE 4.0 far exceeds anything USB 3.1 gen 1 or gen 2 can achieve bandwidth wise.

It says the IO of the internal drive is up to 4.8 gbps while the IO of usb 3.2 gen 1 is up to 5 gbps. It should have the cores support this time unlike the xbox one 2015. It says it supports the slow hdd that most people buy for cheap, each new gen of
usb is able to support all the previous gens like 3 and 2 and most of these plug in hdd are usb 2 or 3 attached to an sata 3 hdd 2.5 form
