USB 3.0 Rosewill RX-358 External Harddrive with Witcher 3 - stuttering and garbled ...

Has anyone ever ran into any issues with games having stuttering (frame rate loss) and/or garbled audio.. With Witcher 3, suddenly i have this issue.. i didnt have the issue with any other games prior.. Also even in dialogue cut scenes, sometimes the audio
will lag behind and start to slow down or become garbled..

I cant remember the exact spec of the drive in my Rosewill, but its definitely a 3.5" 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/sec sata III drive.. most likely a seagate 2TB unit..

I simply moved Witcher to the internal Xbox one hard drive and at least so far, the issues are gone..

I dont think i had used much of the external's space, maybe 30%.. i was going to maybe defrag and try again just to see.

Media Player Preview using 3TB USB 3.0 hard drive sometimes not working properly with certain movies or TV shows. These all work on thumb drive.

I have a 3TB USB 3.0 enclosure that has 1600 movies and a bunch of TV shows, all with the proper codecs (mostly .mkv). About 4% of the movies or TV shows either show a black and white box thumbnail and do not play or hang the Media Player Preview. Worse,
some of the movies hangs the Media Player Preview while trying to display the thumbnail and I have to restart the Media Player Preview. IT IS NOT THE MOVIE. If I put the exact same files onto a USB 3.0 thumb drive, it displays the thumbnail properly and the
movie or TV shows work. Seagate 3TB hard drive and Rosewill RX-358 USB 3.0 enclosure.

Xbox One supports any external harddrive, be it portable or desktop as long as it is USB 3.0 .

 

It's not the drive. Same is happening to most people, regardless of if its running from internal or external. Needs a patch.

 

I'm on an external. Haven't had any stuttering yet but I've not got very far.

Yea, I initially thought moving it to the internal was the fix but no. A patch is the answer

Gotta say I didn't have any stuttering on the first cinematic. It was awesome with a capital A.

 

I did have the stuttering at the beginning, that was the only place though.

 

Fortunate not to have stuttering but my game did have never ending loading screen last night, then wouldn't boot back until I physically removed the disc and hard booted the Xbox. But the game is so good I forgave it. Just hope it doesn't keep happening,
I use insta on but closed the game right down last night after playing.

 

Yeah I've only had the loading screen thing the one time, the game ran flawlessly lastnight.

 

I spent most of last night doing one quest and it was awesome, had trouble with the last enemy, then changed my potion to Swallow and all was well. Best game ever!!

 

And I spoke too soon. I had it fairly often last night. Drive and console didn't matter.

 

Scratch don't suppose your game was instant resumed was it? I had frame rate and juddering before my save messed up when I resumed from instant on. Once I rebooted from scratch and reloaded save it ran perfectly!
