  1. USB 3.0 Hub Issue

I recently bought a powered USB 3.0 hub to use with my Xbox One and I have it plugged into one of the USB ports on the back of the console. I have the Xbox One OTA TV Tuner and a Turtle Beach wireless headset transmitter plugged into the hub and a 2TB external
HDD plugged into the other USB port on the back. The HDD is not plugged into the hub and does not have its own power source.

When the hub is plugged in my Xbox One will not turn off/go to sleep properly. When I try to turn the Xbox off my TV will lose the Xbox One signal but the TV will not automatically turn off with the Xbox like it normally does. The white light on the console
will flash endlessly and trying to turn the Xbox on like this will not work. I have to do a hard reset to get my Xbox One running normally and the TV doesn't automatically turn on with the Xbox either.

If I unplug the hub the problems go away but I bought the hub to be able to keep all my things plugged in and have a free USB port to charge a controller without having to unplug something else. Is there a fix for this?

    :)

USB 3 hub expansion for devices

    Hello SandTandpole7943,

There are some USB 3.0 Hubs for the Xbox One. You can use any USB 3.0 Hub that works on a computer for that matter.

An Xbox branded USB 3.0 Hub is the dreamGEAR Xbox One 3.0 USB Hub (although is not an Xbox nor Microsoft product).

If you want an attached-to-the-console 3.0 Hub; you can try the Collective Minds 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure & 3 Front USB 3.0 Ports Media HUB - Xbox One that also lets you put an Internal Hard Drive inside of it.

Both can be bought on Amazon.

  4. USB 3.0 Hub Issue

I feel your pain buddy! I've had nothing but trouble with USB 3.0 hubs with both my Xbox and PC. I've tried sooo many and the only ones that work flawlessly are the ones that are built into my monitors. I've resorted to using a USB 2 hub for my Xbox One
since the OTA tuner and TB headset are both USB 2.0, as is the controller.

Xbox Series X Seagate 2TB SSD connection weak

There isn't enough power on the bus for the card and the external guessing platter HDD

You need to get a powered USB 3.0 hub, that comes with an external power brick
This was the first time I've had issues with it. I set the system up when I had the original Xbox one around 2015 or 2016 and the USB port layout has stayed the same when I switched to the newer Xbox Series X. The only difference was the switch from a USB 2.0 hub to a 3.0 hub

Since the Xbox Series X has more up to date USB ports, I doubt it would be a lack of distributed power

    USB Port Layout:

x1 - USB 3.0 HDD plugged directly into the port on the Series X

x1- USB 3.0 Hub 4-Port (Not independently powered by a power brick)

I use a 3.0 USB hub on my One just fine. Should have no issues!

XBOX One Not recognizing External Hard Drive as USB 3.0

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your drive. Where on the drive itself does it say that it is USB 3.0? All I can see is the powered USB hub listed as 3.0.

If the drive is not a 3.0 drive but is still plugged into a 3.0 hub then it will still not be recognized as a 3.0 drive.

If you bought the drive under the presumption that it was a USB 3.0 drive but it is not working as such then I would recommend contacting the seller to see about a refund or exchange
