US Xbox One working in the UK

Hi,

I live in the UK and I'm going on holiday in the states next month, and I just wanted to check that if I were to buy an Xbox One there (as it's cheaper), would the console and games work fine back in the UK, or would I need some sort of power transformer?

Hassassin is correct, you will want to get a new power adapter for the country you are currently trying to use your console in. We strongly recommend NOT using a simple plug adapter as this can cause a short in the power cable or the console itself. You

As far as i know, they are region free, so you would need to buy a UK adaptor, or maybe just a US-->UK travel plug.

 

Watch out for import tax when getting home too.

 

Never use power adaptors,step down transformers etc. with your console as they can damage it.

You would also have issues with the warrenty if something went wrong.

If you still want to get one from the U.S. then you would need to by a U.K. power brick,preferably from the Microsoft store as that way you know it's an official one.

Dvd's & blu rays would be region locked as well.

 

Yep you will be taxed by UK HM revenue and customs when you bring it back into the country
