    Xbox 360 Wireless/Bluetooth Headset Problem

    The microphone itself works... I would commonly get complains from my friends on the other side about hearing weird sounds and or sometimes I would sound like a robot... I got this mic with it first came up and had used ever since. I been just ignoring the
    problem and just restart the mic which seems to temporary fix the problem but its starting to get really annoying.

    US Robotics (Routers): DMZ
    Login Information

    • Gateway – 192.168.123.254
    • Username - admin
    • Password – <blank>


    DMZ
    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.123.254) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in “admin” for the user name and by default the password should be blank.
    4. From the top menu select Access
    5. From the sub menu select DMZ
    6. Enter the IP address of your xbox into the DMZ Host IP
    7. Select Apply


    Disable DMZ

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.123.254) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in “admin” for the user name and by default the password should be blank.
    4. From the top menu select Access.
    5. From the sub menu select DMZ.
    6. Set the DMZ to Disable.
    7. Select Apply.

    My friends in party chat hear me as distorted and robotic

    This is so ridiculous, it is 100% a problem with the XBox Gamebar and it's use of audio interfaces. Has anyone had problems with just straight USB mics? I haven't had any USB mics not work. I started having this problem about the same time as this post. Exact issue. I have a Zoom v3 Vocal Processor connected via USB and has an XLR mic plugged in, and in Windows 11 I have only one option for the audio format. THAT SHOULDN'T MATTER! Every single other app I have on my PC can use my Zoom v3 Mic just fine, Discord, DAW Software, OBS, Video Editing software, EVEN THE FREAKIN BUILT IN "LISTEN TO YOUR MIC" setting. It all sounds fine. But when I'm using my mic in an XBOX party, using the Gamebar, it sounds like I'm a robot underwater! I heard it by listening to my friends stream that I was on. Just ridiculous! I've had to resort to using a USB mic, which sucks. Please Microsoft fix this!

    I found the solution. It wasn't about setting the HZ as to highest possible, but to set your microphone to 1 channel.

    My guess is Xbox Game Bar doesn't support 2 channel setups. Set it to for an example: 1 channel, 24-bit, 44100 Hz (Studio) That worked for me.

    I've looked all over and most answers are absolutely useless.

    If you plug your Xbox controller into the computer and run your mic through that it will work fine.

    That's the only fix I have as of right now.

    For me it says default format and the highest for me is 2 channel 16 bit 48000Hz but if it should say specifically sample rate then I don't think this is something you can do on windows 11. But it still doesn't work because its the highest I can go.

    What I did to fix it was set my sample rate and bit depth to the highest quality available. You can do this by right clicking on the speaker icon on the taskbar, then click on sounds, and a panel should pop up then you would click on recording and double click on the microphone that you use, go to advanced and right under default format you should see where you can change the sample rate and the bit depth then just choose the highest quality available for your microphone.
