URGENT HELP! Speakers on PC monitor

I do not believe that there is a method to accomplish what you want in the sound settings for the Xbox. Is the monitor unable to accept the sound input via the HDMI cable? That would be odd seeing as that is part of HDMI.

i would suggest you research the settings on the monitor a bit to see what it can support.

To the best of my limited tech knowledge VGA does not carry sound, only video signal. This may be your issue. My recommendation would be to look for a newer monitor that has a HDMI as my search on amazon did not yield any adapters that will accomplish what
you need

Yes that is correct it is the monitor, monitor or pc monitors have no speakers to reproduce the sound that comes from the console via HDMI. Before buying a monitor you should confirn first if the monitor have internal speakers which is unlikely.

the monitor i buy was for use of a computer and i have a aditional speakers for the pc and now i want to use the same monitor for the xbox..

Your monitor should have a 3.5mm audio jack (most do). If you already have speakers that are connected to the audio out on your PC, disconnect them and plug them into the 3.5mm jack on the back of the monitor. This way you can enjoy sound from both your PC and your console via the same set of speakers, like you would if your display was a TV.

I would also increase the audio output on the monitor settings to 100% once the speakers are connected, they're usually defaulted to 50% and then adjust the volume via the speakers themselves.

@ngocphi: Most monitors, even the 'gaming' ones, don't generally have built in speakers.

hi - thanks - I haven't purchased any speakers yet, so any suggestions on compatible options would be good.

Just deciding whether I need a monitor with speakers (or a TV), or stick with a PC monitor and by speakers separately that connect to the xbox.
