Urgent Help required! (Xbox One display through monitor)

So I currently use an Xbox 360 through my old PC monitor. The monitor doesn't support sound so I used the A/V cable and split just the sound off of it and then connected it to my computer speakers.

I pre-ordered my Xbox One with Fifa 15 earlier in the week but only thought about connecting it up today, at which point I realised the Xbox One doesn't support A/V and is only HDMI. This means I can only put through a visual display to my monitor with no
sound.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it? I am unsure what an S/PDIF cable is, can I convert that to a female (or male) 3.5mm headphone jack?

Any help is much appreciated

No video through Dell monitor

I've been using my Dell PC monitor with my Xbox 360 Slim for a few months now, but recently it has no been showing video.

I connect my Xbox to the monitor through an HDMI to DVI cable, but the monitor just goes into power save mode and does not show video.

I recently used a DVI to DVI cable to run video from my desktop PC to the monitor, but after I tried switching back the display video from the Xbox, the monitor does not display video.

How can I get my monitor to display video from the Xbox again through the HDMI to DVI cable?

Urgent help required

To my understanding, the likes and comments that were applied were strictly applied to the pinned screenshot. With it being removed, it's like clearing the slate. There would be no way to reapply those unfortunately.

You may be able to buy an adaptor but will probably be better off with a new Monitor that accepts an HDMI input and has built in speakers or obtaining a Television.

Thank you. I agree a new monitor/tv is the best option its just neither of these are things I want to buy in a rush so if I could I find a temporary solution that'd be preferred.

Does anyone have any knowledge of what sort of adapter I'd need?

I found this lead and wondered if it would do the job;

I have a 3.5mm female to female converter already.

Display HDR 1000 is a VESA Certification of HDR capability. This monitor having Display HDR 1000 means that it meets VESA's highest requirements for an HDR display.

This monitor should work beautifully for Xbox One X. You can see more information on the Display HDR ratings here.
