Urgent Help Buying Xbox One S info needed

HI there guys and girls,

I'm new to all of this, i'm a 22 year old university student from the Caribbean studying in Switzerland on scholarship. There's an amazing deal/offer in local stores right now for the Xbox One S game console with Gears of War 4.
While I have played games previously on computers my current used (old and second hand) macbook doesn't have much capability of playing games. I've saved up my money and I can safely purchase a game console and small television for my room.

The first issue I need help with is that I'll be back and forth in the Caribbean and Switzerland during my studies. Does the xbox one have a built in voltage adapter? As in does it support 110-240 volts? And if so, does that mean I'll simply need to purchase
to power cables, one that fits European outlets and one that fits US outlets?

My second issue is that I'm on a campus network and I've been told that It doesn't not support the connectivity of ANY game consoles. So my second issue is this, does the Xbox One S and its games have capabilities of playing in "offline" mode from directly
out of the package? If not, does xbox one S allow a user to download updates via a flash drive and install in such a manner?

This is my first time ever buying into any game console. Studies is my top priority but I've found ways to maximize the efficiency of my time and believe i can have some fun playing games between studies. Any suggestions would be great.

I've quickly read that other users who use their consoles at universities bridge their internet connection through their laptops (i've only seen windows laptops mentioned). Would this system also be possible from a macbook to xbox

sorted it now, looks like one of my little monkeys completely reprogrammed my denon surround system, never mind, thanks for the help anyway.

 

There's a switch on the xbox one s that allows you to use it in different countries with different voltages.As you said,you would just need the correct cable with the correct plug on it.

The first time you start it up you will need a update which can't be done via usb as far as I know.

Don't know if it'll work using a MacBook as a bridge.

The majority off games will play offline.

In the consoles settings there is a network tab.You need to go there & set the console into offline mode.

The copy of Gears of Wars it comes with will most likely be a digital copy so that will need to be downloaded & I think it's about 50gb.Not got the game so can't tell you the actual size.
