Upset over $400 XBox-One vs. $500 Xbox-One with Kinect

@f00x. Yeah I know. Positive threads don't seem to be aloud on here, you might get one going for an hour or two before the usual 3-4 people turn it into mess.

 

Electro > does that work in game ? If so does the game keep going while you say invite peopl eto party chat ?

No, what I did was while visiting family some 200 + miles away last week, was try out their PS4 for about 10 minutes. When their kids came back in from outside, I had no choice but to give the controller back to them.

Yet in that 10 minutes, I thought it was neat as I do have a 360 w/Kinect, yet with the PS4 I could command it with a simple headset, and I didn't have to calibrate it at all.

 

If you really need voice commands it so much simpler with kinect, with a headset you still have to fart about turning it on and get the headset on. With kinect you just walk in and talk.

Its one hundred dollars more,thats it ..I think its safe to say if you are really struggling with the decision about 100 bucks you need to reexamine your priorities about your hobbies ..

If you simply don't want it ,fine, great, but don't all of a sudden ask MS to appease to you and ask for the kinectless one start to do do things the kinect does.

I always thought it was the peeps who didn't care about spending money who needed to reexamine their priorities.

Disposable income !!Do you know what that means ?I have a retirement plan,my bills are paid,i own my home,my family of 6 eat,i also have fun money, AKA disposable income.

To me the ones whining about 100 bucks or why is this game 20 bucks ,i is this game not 50% off ,ect.ect. ,,need to get a new cheaper

I guess someone could get used to it, but I can imagine the awkwardness of trying to communicate with a machine.

I saw an article where MS said they knew the voice commands needed work but were adding a way for you to opt in to speech data collection so they could improve it.

I probably don't use mine as much as others here, but there are still times (while playing a game mostly) when it beats interrupting your gameplay to press buttons, hands down
<no pun intended.

I suppose it could seem a little awkward at first, but then again, anything new and/or different will until one gets used to it. At least once you learn how to speak to it properly,
it understands and responds as expected... which is pretty straight forward. If you truly want awkward communication just frequent these... well, never mind, we're both here enough to know where that was headed.

 

Voice commands work 0% of the time. It's like that in most countries. Why on earth would anyone want to pay and extra 100 dollars for something that only works for voice commands, yet disable that feature from every country except a few? Kinect=pointless

 

I got my console only a few weeks after it released. At this point in time, I
might... might... have to take my shoes off in order to count the times voice commands haven't worked for me and I use it every day. I have no idea why some people have so much trouble with it while others have very little. Being that we live in the same
state... I can't see it being an issue of accent.

 

^^ I live in Ireland now and the voice commands aren't enabled here hence the reason it works 0% of the time. lol. Hopefully they reconsider and enable them.

 

They have given up on the kinect. I definitely wouldn't have cared as much if they didn't promise the world. I think they officially scrapped it when they fired what's his name. The internet trolls made sure to kill the product.

 

If I had a crystal ball that warned me of Microsoft's potential 180, I would have not bought this system day one. I despise the Kinect. The only useful feature to me is the microphone attached to it. I don't need a camera or a motion sensor. I could have
saved 100$.
