    I have had a xbox live account for several years, Ive tried several times to update my account information, i cannot remember the password to my original account and the phone number is outdated as well. I tried recently to update again, tried contacting
    xboxlive via email, and called them several times, each time i was disconnedted or hung up on ( amazing customer service). I can of course still pay for xboxlive stuff with my debit card, and no question is raised about my memebership when im giving them
    money but heaven forbid if i have a issue. today i tried once again to update, after several hang ups i get a email to start new xboxlive memebership, so after the horrible service and continued headache i have to make a new account, lose all my saved games,
    all my downloaded games, contacts and gamerscore?!?!?!?! All i want is someone, NOT a automated service to speak to, who SPEAKS english, and UNDERSTANDS english, and who doesn't disconnect or hang up on me several times. I do not know if this will even be
    read or if they will even care, from what ive seen they will not!! But i figure worth a shot. The main reason i wanna update my info is for when i upgrade to a XBOX ONE, but from the way i have been treated i do not know if i will even bother.

    this is not really a question anyone can give a answer to, i have dealt with xbox customer support a number of times and they have been very helpful. Also some people on here offer there help on these forums with little reward, but anyway thanks for your
    observations.

    Thank you, Jameser78, for the explanation. I love to see a community in which the members try to help out.

    However...

    I *did* fully describe the situation when I posted.. including the conciusion reached by phone support of what was the issue, and their instructions that I post on the forums for more assistance.

    When directed by phone support to post on the forums for additional help, it should not be unreasonable for me to expect that someone there can actually *do* something about the issue.

    When the responder has "Official Support" on his/her gamertag, I think I can reasonably expect to be dealing with a paid staffer, and not a volunteer. If that's something I would have to have been around on the forums to know, then that's not setting expectations
    well at the phone support end.

    All that being said, the *refusal* of phone support to escalate my issue when requested to do so, and their insistance that I had to post here for any hope of action, is poor support. That is especially true if the forum is mostly volunteers, as the nature
    of the issue isn't something that non-employees can help with. If I can't get help here, in essence, that reply from phone support amounts to "take a long walk off a short pier".

    take it from me.... when it comes to customer service offered by major corps these days.... the peeps at xbox are THE BEST! hands down not even close.... you ever try dealing with clearwire customer support?? now that is a joke.... leave the good folks at
    xbox alone.....
