    UPnP is causing problems connecting to Xbox Live


    Hello and I have been having a hard time connecting to xbox live for the past few days. The first time it was a simple fix and all I had to do was wait it out. Now today it says that everything about my internet is fine except that the UPnP is moderate,
    so now it takes a long time for something to load. I have to close and open my Xbox 360 five times just so I can log on to an account and open Netflix. Also when I am just using the xbox it just signs me out of xbox live and doesn't let me sign in again.Does
    anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.

    My router is Apple Airport Express Maverick version 7.6.4

    Please help because I want to use my xbox problem free.

    Finally, I just recently had an xbox live update, so could that be causing some of the problems, because it never had a UPnP problem before that update and is there an update to fix this problem?

    Please Help!!!

    connection issues

    i am having problems connecting to Xbox live i am connected to the internet but no live services are working I've tested the connection, NAT is open, no errors.

    I'm in Manitoba Canada one Xbox one on my wireless through M.T.S on a 2wire modem i don't know if UPnP is enabled.

    Hi EaglesX43, sorry to hear you are having problems connecting to xbox live.

    Looking at the answers you have given above have you tried disabling UPnP? I had a similar situation and I found that after disabling UPnP have had no random disconnects since.

    Sorry to hear about the connection issues! If you are still having this issue, try changing the security setting on your Airport to WPA2 if it isn't already on that setting. To do that, follow the steps on our

    WIreless Security post in our
    Airport Express forum. Also, can try testing your Xbox Live connection and post back the specific error you are receiving?

    I don't know if this cause the problem but, I'm using Vodafone Mobile Broadband Network Adapter (ZTE), with Internet Connection Sharing On (Which allows me to get onto live).

    UPnP is on, I cycled it and nothing has changed.

    Your ping time is a bit high, and I will agree that your service is not that great.

    Also you stated you have opened ports and enabled Upnp, if you did both of these it will cause problems.

    Turn off the port forwarding and only use Upnp, then on your xbox 360 try the following

    Go to network settings, select your type of connection [wired or wireless], and select"configure network", click right bumper and select "Restore factory defaults".

    After you complete those steps go back to the networks settings and select "Test Xbox Live Connection".

    If it reports any connection problems please let us know.

    Actually, UPnP, as per the Connectivity support folks with Xbox, can cause problems if used with Port Forwarding and if used with DMZ, so please consider all three of those as mutually exclusive.

    If you can connect with just UPnP, that's the best solution, as that's the only way to reliably connect with mutliple Xboxes on a network.

    If you have only one Xbox, then you can use Port Forwarding or DMZ if UPnP fails. Port Forwarding of port 3074 (UDP+TCP Both) is preferred as it delivers data to the Xbox with less overhead, and does not deliver irrelevant data to the Xbox.
