Uploaded Recorded Clips to Xbox Live Missing

If you have a mobile game clip what you've recorded to your phone using a screen capture app or something like that, you can't upload that video to Xbox Live.

Sorry, but that's not the way it works. You can download, edit and upload back
to Xbox Live only those game clips that
you’ve recorded with the Game DVR feature.

Step 1: Upload the video to Xbox Live (what you want to edit)

Step 2: Once it's uploaded to the Xbox Live, download it to your Win10 PC via Xbox App

Step 3: Edit, trim and save the new game clip

It is not possible to upload clips recorded on PC to Live.

tohellnbak is wrong. The clips are recorded to the hard drive. To be recorded to the cloud directly, your gameplay would have to be constantly streamed to Xbox Live, which would use up nearly 2GB of bandwidth per hour. It doesn't work like that.

The hard drive is constantly recording your gameplay, then if you use "Xbox record that" to record a clip, it's added to your list of clips in Upload and then it gets uploaded to Xbox Live, which is why you can see it on Xbox.com and SmartGlass.

To me, it seems like it's been designed with mobile in mind, cos the clips really don't look great on a big screen because of the low bit rate. 720p is fine, but if they could up the bit rate some more it would definitely be an improvement!

How are you going to share clips with a community your not subscribed to?

MS isn't forcing you to do anything.

Alternative buy the kit that will allow you to do it without live, (live is cheaper short term, or for getting used to it)

It could also be that your clips are still being uploaded on Xbox Live. For example, if you are recording with 4k resolution it will take 5-30 minutes to upload completely or even longer if you are playing a game online while it is trying to upload. That
is assuming if the issue you have is recent video clips that you just recorded and you are trying to view them right after.
