Uploaded a video to YouTube from Twitch and it was flagged.

So I recorded a gameplay of me and a friend playing Halo MCC and exported it from Twitch to YouTube on my channel. It was soon flagged by [Merlin] Music Essentials. The reasoning was the lobby music. I decided to counter that flag and say it was my video
and they didn't have any rights claiming monetization. However this failed no me and my counter was rejected, the video was removed, and now I have restrictions on my account and a strike against me. I've contacted support twice so far and they continue to
direct me here. I don't know what to do, and I don't know where to go. I'd like for this to be carefully explained so I can try and appeal to get my account cleared of any strikes, but I'm not sure if that'll be possible.

One of the support members said that Merlin may be trolling, the other said they own the rights to the music used in Halo. I'm not sure which is true, most likely the latter. However I don't see how this is legal as their music wasn't even the showcase of the
video, as it was literally the matchmaking search music.

I have a 'case number' from the first chat, not sure what it's used for.

    :)

  2. Streaming your video game feed + youtube

Streams are uploaded to Twitch TV. I'm not sure if you can also live stream to Youtube, but from the Twitch website you can upload videos to Youtube.

A question about the Microsoft's Game Content Usage Rules

Yes, as long as they're uploaded to Youtube / Twitch. Be sure to include somewhere in the video or in the description box the bolded notice in that article and you're good.

    lazarus923,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues.

YouTube music restrictions can be stringent at times. I recommend checking out their website and restrictions on what music you can have in your videos. My understanding of it (which is basic) is that you cannot have music in the background of a video, it
has to be added on top while editing. However, don't take that as truth.

As to the restrictions on your account.. is there on your Xbox Live account? Or Twitch? Or YouTube?

This is on YouTube, the restrictions that is.

I have no music, period, playing in the background besides the BGM that the game provides. There's nowhere, at least

Unfortunately because the restrictions are on your YouTube account there isn't really anything that can be done on these forums. You will have to talk to YouTube support to ask them more specific reasons why your account had restrictions placed on it and
work with them to get those taken off.

Sorry that I couldn't be more help!

My issue isn't about 'restrictions' on my YouTube account, it's about the inability to upload 'my content' due to one of Microsofts partners. It's completely wrong that they can flag your videos for monetization because they own the music to the lobby ambience
in Halo, when that's not even the main focus of the video. I'm complaining because this isn't set in place anywhere, a list of what you can and can't do with Microsoft titles, you know, what's legal to monetize on YouTube. If they were to make a list of games
you can monetize, have all the rights to that is when uploading, it would clear some headaches is all.

Again, i'm sorry you're having this issue. Unfortunately to me it still sounds like a YouTube side issue. Their restrictions don't allow any music that is copyrighted and hasn't been allowed by the company that owns the rights to it. Even if there is 1 second
worth of music that is recognizable in the video, regardless of the focus of that video.. they are still going to flag it, because the company that owns those rights did not allow it.

I understand you're frustrated, but to get anything to change you would either have to contact YouTube or Merlin Music Essentials.

This forum is for issues with Xbox One, and this section for problems with applications on the Xbox One. You were using Twitch, yes.. but it isn't really a Twitch technical issue. It's an issue of copyrights, which can't be handled here.

I do wish that there was something that could be done here, but this is not the place for your issue. Sorry!
