Upload Studios 2.0 When doing a voice over it freezes and crashes

Hey everyone,

Every time I use Upload Studio 2.0 and I went to record a voice over it freezes and then it will crash. I use the new Astro A40's, I have tried the xbox live headset (the one that came with xbox one) an the Turtle Beach XO7 Headset and all with the same
result. I even spent 2 hours on the phone with support and they couldn't figure this out. I have read about other people having this issue. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this... it is very frustrating. I appreciate the help on this.

Upload Studio is Garbage

Alright I've been having nothing but problems with Upload Studio lately. From crashes, freezes, nonfunctioning keyboard, nonfunctioning microphone, failed uploads, and failed playback.

It seems like Microsoft is having a hard time making a reliable video editor that runs on a modified pc (basically), pitty. It seems like it works about 10% of the time and the other 90% it has random problems that keep anything from being accomplished.

Let's start with the freezes and crashes, if you do anything with a lot of load, say a couple dozen clips with voice over and text, it'll just crash or freeze and not do anything until its force quit.

Now imagine you're putting text in a bunch of clips one by one, to get halfway through and the virtual keyboard (the one on screen) freezes and won't let you do anything. Frustrating isn't it?

Okay now you're about to do a voice over the whole video and Upload Studio doesn't register a sound you make, or freezes at that moment also. About half a dozen hard resets later it will think about working the next time.

You'be managed to trudge your way through all this horse poop to finish the video, only to find out as soon as it starts uploading, it fails. You go to your network settings to check your network to find out you have perfectly fine upload speed, but Upload
is not functioning AGAIN.

This has been my week with Upload Studio. Somebody please bring a good editor to Xbox One since Upload is a lost cause.

 

Upload studios help

When I try to edit a clip in upload studios the add voice is grayed out. I have a Mic and headset but no Kinect. Any way to fix this?

Well we uninstalled upload studio and re-installed after doing a hard reset.

We checked my security settings.

We used the kinect and that DID work for the voice overs just fine.

Plugged the xbox one directly into the wall outlet vs. power supply.

Tried different xbox one controllers

Uninstalled my profile and re-installed it.

We tried using the newer Astro A40s

We tried using the turtle beach x07s (titan fall version) headset

We tried using the xbox one headset that came with the system

Deleted a ton of my clips and captures down to about 70 left. (I had about 141 clips and captures)

Moved UPload studio from my 1 tb western digital my passport hard drive to the internal hard drive of my xbox one.

That is pretty much all I can remember off the top of my head.

I never had any issues until Upload Studios 2.0 came out.

(system is up to date)

(controllers are also up to date)

 

So to clarify, this issue only occurs when recording audio with headsets attached? Would you be able to try a different Xbox One console with the same controller and headset to see if the issue persists?

If you happen to have any nearby friends or family members who have an Xbox One console, see if you can test your controller and one of your headsets on their Xbox One console too see if the issue persists.
