Upload Studio Add Voice Over Issue

The option to add a voice over is greyed out. It won't let me click on it at all. I tried editing my privacy settings, resetting my console, uninstalling and reinstalling again, I don't know what else to do. What is preventing me from being able to add voice
or music to my clips? If this issue isn't resolved, I might have to sell my console. I'd really like to get to try this out, but unfortunately I cannot. Thank you.

Upload Studio Voice Over Issue

I created a five minute clip using the Game DVR. I had a short voice over on the Game DVR part (only one) and tried to record a voice over on an outtro but it wouldn't record. I would start and it says "You are about to reach the limit of this clip."
I only wanted to do a ten second or so voice over on the outtro but it wouldn't save it. I tried other types but the only one that would allow me to record was another DVR segment, which I didn't have nor wanted to use. Other templates would instantly stop
if I tried to record or wouldn't save if I tried to make a voice over. My total voice over time would have been about forty-five seconds.

I found a workaround by recording on an Intro template at the beginning
of my clip and moved it to the end, but that is annoying and seems unnecessary. I thought the limit was thirty minutes for clips?

Upload Studio voice over?

I'm trying to add a voice over for the Top 5 template but when I add the voice it immediately goes to the next video where it says to add a new voice over to the next segment. I just hit B because I don't want voice over for that segment but it deletes the
first voice over for all the segments. I tried just going through them all but it quickly cuts you off after the first minute saying "You've reached the maximum voice over" or something. Can I just add a voice over to the intro and just leave it at that?

I know this is an old post, but doesn't seem to be resolved.

It can be fixed by going into settings >> all Settings >> Account >> privacy and online safety >> xbox privacy >> set to adult defaults

the specific setting, im unclear about, perhaps, share content created using Kinect, even if you don't have a kinect. Perhaps another setting dealing with voice comms.

Hey ! I was just able to add a voice over to a clip with the standard headset. Are you using the headset that came with the console? When you start the voice over, are you able to see your voice's sound waves when you talk? Post back and let me

My Xbox did not come with a headset, I don't know if it matters or not but I am using the Xbox One S and the headset I'm using is the Turtle Beach xo four stealth. Last night it started working then it stopped again, but worked the whole time when I was
in party and game chat. Also just a quick question am I not able to play music through the headset (using adapter) as a voice over? I saw a video about that as well last night.

Hey InfinIBanZ! It sounds like there may be an issue with your headset, you may want to look at getting it replaced. Additionally, you would need to use a third party headset to use music on the voice over. Thanks!

I think I figured something out...

REGARDING ISSUE #1:

After receiving the standard power cycle troubleshooting instructions from XBOX, I decided to stare at the problem until it made sense or threw me a bone. After countless different methods and attempts at recording ( changing just one setting with each attempt
and ruling things out one by one )... I came to a possible cause/solution for the your first issue-- voiceover feature crashing the entire program upon countdown reaching 1, and/or getting nothing but static recorded.

First off I have SURROUND SOUND TRITON HEADPHONES plugged into the OPTICAL AUDIO jack on my console. Audio settings require BITSTREAM OUT for said headphones to provide me with anything resembling a Dolby Digital Surround Sound bitstream
format.

The crash was only triggered for me when I was attempting to record voiceover audio while my headphones were powered ON via the power button located on the connected 'decoder box'. I received the crash whether attempting
to record voiceover via my Kinect OR the XboxOne Chat Mic connected to my controller.

Without changing any audio settings from their original Optical, Bitstream Out, Surround setup originally noted upon first experiencing the crash -- Simply turning OFFthe decoder box/headphones BEFORE PRESSING RECORD (without having to
unplug the headphones completely) ALLOWED THE COUNTDOWN TO FINISH AND ALL VOICEOVER AUDIO TO SUCCESSFULLY RECORD (CONFIRMED RECORDING WITH CHAT HEADSET AS WELL AS KINECT MICS).

The headset plugged into my optical device is a Triton 720+ surround sound headset. Not specifically listed as compatible with the XBoxOne (just 360 and ps3), regardless of still providing me with surround sound audio (no chat). It seems that merely having
some type of decoder box or digital audio device plugged into your optical outlet and in the ON position, regardless of your digital audio settings, interferes with the voiceover recording feature of Upload Studio.

NOTE: In my hours of trials, NOT ONCE did hard-booting, power cycling, uninstalling/reinstalling programs, nor changing any one particular display & sound audio setting EVER CORRECT THE ISSUE. Please remember, this is the first time I'm
posting, so as of right now this has only worked for me (until someone else tries it)... I'm no programmer, nor do I claim to be some troubleshooting expert. I'm technogically self-taught having grown up in the days that saw the start of Apple and the birth
of Atari, and having to sink or swim in DOS hell, but it looks to me like the problem lies somewhere in whatever audio device/s are attached via your OPTICAL AUDIO jack. I'd say there's some miscommunication going on there once you hit that record button and
that countdown begins.

HOPE THIS WORKS for you or anyone else as a temporary fix regarding this ongoing unresolved issue (and helps to steer XBOX tech guru powers that be in a direction that leads to a more complete/informed solution or some sort of eventual patch!
