Uplay passport with game bought new

Good afternoon, I purchased on
02/07/2013 Assassin's Creed III directly
from marketplace.xbox.com (I'm just playing now) and I was wondering
if it is normal that I should buy the
Uplay Passport for play online? should be together to the game bought new?

Ok did you buy Far Cry 3 brand new or used because if you bought it used you may have not punchedd in the uplay passport or obtained one, the uplay passport is basically an Online Pass

 

Games on Demand/online passes

I have recently bought Assassin's Creed 3 and the previous games in the series on demand. As these are "new" copies of the game do they not include the uplay passport to play online. No mention of the passport not being included was in the description of
the game. Thanks.

 

It's usually a code card that comes in the package when bought in store. Sometimes DL versions require online passes purchased separately.

Try accessing online features. If you can't, then you need to purchase the passport.
