    Upgrading Xbox for Child - Catch22 stuck


    Hello All

    I'm a bit stuck...

    My son has a current XBox Live Gold subscription with about 11 months left on it.

    I want to trial Xbox Game pass ultimate (Microsoft have a special at the moment where it is $1 for the first month)

    If he likes it I'm happy to buy it for him on a more permanent basis

    If I go in to register it tries to charge me $16 for Xbox Game pass Ultimate

    If my son logs in and tries to sign up/upgrade from Live gold to Game pass ultimate it says "You need a parent to buy this for you" or something to that effect.

    I'm stuck.. the only way I can think of getting around this is to change my son's age with Microsoft so it removes the parental restrictions/approvals

    Any help/ideas greatly appreciated!

    Managing non-Live Accounts

    Family dashboard is for Xbox Live. If they are not on Live it will not appear. You could upgrade the account to a child Live profile with your email affiliated with it and limit the account. But you have stated that isn't something you'd be interested in
    with limiting the account so I suppose you're stuck for now.

    That's not a catch22. A catch22 is "I need a car to get a job, but I can't afford a car without a job.." And I don't consider it being too much to expect people to play the gametype they're playing; ie, don't play TDM in DOM.

    You can't change an xbox child account into adult. the account can be upgraded by the parental account only when the child account registers 18+ of age from the servers
