    Upgrading to Ultimate from Gold


    New to xbox subscriptions. We have loaded 3 yrs of Xbox Gold onto a family member (child) account in hopes to upgrade to ultimate for $1. I think our first mistake was loading it onto the childs profile. Because of the settings of the childs profile,
    it would not allow to upgrade unless on parents account. Switched to parent account, upgraded to ulitmate for $1, but only did it for 3 months, and only shows parent account with ultimate, and kids still gold. I removed restrisctions off kids account and
    it looks like I can now upgrade for $1 under the childs account. When i go to purchase it does say it will convert any existing gold, but I need to hit subscribe and I’m affraid I’m missing something. Says $1 for 1 month plus 2 free months. I don’t know
    where or when it will

    show it’s converting it. Any help with this is appreciated.

    I upgraded my life gold to ultimate then i cancelled upgrade but it cancelled live gold too and i lost my year of gold supsc.

    Fyi just going to mention that 1/1 upgrade from gold to ultimate no longer exists

    As of the recent price increase the conversion is 3/2 permanently regardless of if gold or ultimate (no need ro upgrade not just add the gold time to ultimate or upgrade to ultimate but 1/1 is no more)

    when you upgrade to gamepass ultimate from gold it clearly states this will convert your remaining gold into gamepass ultimate.

    Since you upgraded to Ultimate, your gold was cancelled and upgraded to Ultimate as well. Cancelling Ultimate also cancels your gold.

    What happens to Xbox live gold when upgrading to game pass ultimate?

    When you upgrade from standard Gold/Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate, you upgrade at a ratio of 1:1.

    The 3:1 conversion ratio is what happens when you already have Ultimate and are adding standard Gold/Game Pass to Ultimate.

    I had Game Pass Ultimate from November to February, then cancelled it. I never did the Live Gold to GPU conversion. Can I do that if I sign up for Game Pass again?

    Yes it will. If you are upgrading from a standard gold or game pass to Ultimate, it will upgrade at a ratio of 1:1. The FAQ does mention a different conversion ratio, but that is if you currently have Ultimate and are adding a standard gold or game pass.
