upgrading to larger Hard Drive

Discus and support upgrading to larger Hard Drive in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a XBox 360s 250gb and just got a Larger 500gb Drive & the transfer cable - I assume I would remove the 250 gb Drive and install the new drive...     upgrading to larger Hard Drive


    I have a XBox 360s 250gb and just got a Larger 500gb Drive & the transfer cable - I assume I would remove the 250 gb Drive and install the new drive Power the XBox up and let it format the disk and download any updates first?

    When that's over -Power down and Connect the Cable and old hard drive Power the XBOX up and select transfer ?

    Does that sound right?

    Upgrading from 250GB to 300GB on a newer xbox 360.

    The largest Hard drive that Microsoft makes for the 360 is 320GB. If you are upgrading to a 500GB hard drive it is unauthorized and you should not transfer any data to it. If you plan on getting an external hard drive the 360 only supports up to 32GBs of
    external storage on any one device

    far as I know the only drive bigger than the 500 gig is the 1TB and that is only used on the One. there is no non legit way to put a bigger drive than what MS makes for a 360 sorry.

    Hey jorbach, You are not aloud to use an unofficial hard drive in your Xbox 360. If your low on storage space you could upgrade to a larger official hard drive or use a flashdrive up to 16Gb.

    The hard drive in the Xbox One S is not user upgradeable/replaceable. If you want more storage you need to buy an external USB hard drive.

    Replacing the drive yourself will void your warranty and Microsoft will no longer repair your console, even if you offer to pay. Also a larger drive will lead to a console ban as will know if your internal drive is larger than what they provide.

    Actually, you can now use up to a 2TB external hard drive on your console for extra storage space. Just be sure to try and stay away from Seagate and PNY drives as those do seem to have the most issues.
