Wow, that is right, Merlin - I just confirmed it under my own account settings. That means you'd save money if you pay by the month up to 5 months. More than that and you're better off paying for the entire year. I guess that kind of makes sense for MS from
a profit standpoint...

Ryse is pretty, pretty short , pretty avg.

Forza is fun if you like racing and DR3 looks like a 360 game.

Halo spartan assault and max tcob are free with gold currently. thats most of the indie titles

 

Bizarro it's not a mistake to buy it before that date. Enjoying a lot of games on my Xboxone and still play my 360 from time to time but MP is all on the ONE and it outperforms the 360 by a lot.

 

So far I am loving this system. The new dashboard is taking a lot of getting use to. Only game I played so far was Forza 5. Got lost in time and spend a good 4-5 hours on it.

The game installs are beyond annoying however. I've been waiting probably 30 mins for DR3, and it's only at 44% They are nothing like this on PS4. I can install a game and be playing in 15 mins. Everything else though, I'm liking.

 

ps4 lets you install and play while the updates download

x1 makes you wait on the updates before you install.... odd and annoying

ive yet to buy a X1 game and play it that day

gone are the days of buying a game and expecting to play it as soon as you get home on X1

 

Well they need to change this ***. Because it's highly annoying. But my cousin and I both just got Forza today, it let him start playing around 10% and it made me wait until about 50%. Very odd. Something MS needs to fix ASAP.

 

Forza let me start at 30% i think but most cars and tracks were still "installing"

RYSE said i was ready to play at 15% but just took me to a loading screen until it was 100% finished before i could even start the campaign.

Titanfall holds the record for me. I could play it after only 1 hour.

When you install a game DISCONNECT from the internet.

It will install the game instead of installing the game AND applying all your updates at the same time.

It makes a very noticeable difference for install times.

Once you've a few games loaded then you can always play something while an update loads.

 

Ryse is an okay game but it is rather short and repetitive as many others said. Good call on Dead Rising 3, A really fun game and a new DLC just been released that supports up to 4 player co-op

I'd also pick up Wolfenstien: The New Order. Really fun shooter that adds a nice balance of gunplay and stealth. Definitively the best game I've picked up on Xbox One so far.

To answer charging question, You can buy a play and charge kit. I have one. No issues with it, I put my controller on charge when I am asleep or going away for the day. As you can see other members has their different methods of way so it is entirely up
to you!

 

@Spitfire you cannot use account money to purchase a gold subscription. A CC or prepaid card is required

 

I thought you could in the past? Either way I wasted $10 buying marketplace points or whatever they call them because I was going to buy a month for now. I got a 14 free day trail with my play and charge kit. But I'm still being shown as silver?! No idea
why, the code worked.

 

Why! WTF! Spent all day off and on installing Forza 5. (When I was on to play, I let it install) It gets to 80% and then says install stopped. Made me start back at the start. Really annoyed with this install system. Any word if MS is going to fix this crap?

 

^ Trials don't temporarily give you Gold status, they just give you some functionalities that Gold members have, i.e. multiplayer access. There was never any ability to purchase a subscription using the funds on your account either. It's either redeemed
by CC or pre-paid code.

 

I thought for sure that you use to be able to use points. That was when they were actual points and real currency. IDK I guess I'll buy a sub card on Friday when I go to Gamestop to try and return DR3 and grab a piece for my beaches to connect to the controller.

 

Forza was a pain for me too. All other game's have been fine, Watch Dogs installed really quick.
