    hi im trying to upgrade a friends sons offline profile to become an xbox live member. i've created a parent account with xbox live silver access. when im signed in as the sons offline account, i click on join xbox live. this leads me to fill out info for
    his account, then agreeing with the parent account that this profile can access xbox live. i have already created a microsoft account with his fathers email address to use as the live account when upgrading. once ive given permission with the parent account
    its continues to let me agree the conditions of the live account. when i go to click accept as what i assume is the final step it starts uploading the information then it brings up "xbox sign up service is unavailable at present". is there a problem with xbox
    live or am i doing something incorrectly?

    I just did this today with my offline partners profile which was on my own Gold account (360 ) upgrading offline profile to xbox live account :)

    You need to use a 24hr, 2 day, 7day pass and create an xbox live account for each of them, then port them across

    Completely 100% wrong!

    Just deleted my profile off my xbox one, then downloaded my brothers profile ( as if he was the potential buyer). The two games worked perfect under his account both online and offline.

    I have been having the same issue with my sons account for the last two months. I have been doing all I can today to get it started but after 6 hrs and I still trying to figure out what is going on.

    Hello,

    Xbox LIVE was probably having limited service at the time. Try to be on when there are no service alerts, and if the problem persists please contact Support.

    Hi there,

    only one xbox live account can be connected to a specific Microsoft Account, so if you want to 'upgrade' an offline profile to a xbox live account you will need to use a Microsoft Account that doesn't have an xbox live account already connected.

    So if you don't have an Microsoft Account without an Xbox live account connected you will need to create a new Microsoft Account if you want to 'upgrade' that offline profile.

    Signed into your offline profile, if you choose the option to Join Xbox LIVE, you can attach an unused email to your profile, and upgrade it to a LIVE account. This would be the only way to use your offline profile's progress on a LIVE account, as there

    No, you can't merge a local profile with an already existing Xbox Live account, it is only possible to 'upgrade' that local profile to a new Xbox Live account. If you want to do that see the steps on this link:

    How do I close a free Xbox Live account

    Hi there,

    the only way that is closes to closing an xbox live account is by closing the Microsoft Account itself.

    Which I assume you don't want to do, so the best alternative is to move that xbox live account to another Microsoft Account (and close that one) This will free up the Microsoft Account and should allow you to use it to upgrade your daughters offline profile
    to an xbox live account.

    you can perform the steps

    The steps on how to upgrade an offline profile to an online profile can be found here:

    That should allow you to upgrade her offline profile, but like I mentioned it may take 30 days to complete, since moving an xbox live account to another MS account can only be done after the profile has been on the console for at least 30 days.

    @Hasibullah an offline xbox live account (not connected to any Microsoft account) can be promoted/upgrade to an online xbox live account, so there is no need to do everything again.

    You can do this by signing in with the offline account and using the Guide button on the controller, and select something similar 'join xbox live'/'Connect to live' this will give you the option to add a Microsoft account to that offline profile, making
    it an online profile.

    On topic, like the others have mentioned, there is no way to merge two or more accounts into one
