  1. Upgrading HHD to SSD in Xbox One S

    Hello everyone

I have been researching for quite a while information to upgrade the Xbox One S from 1 TB HHD to a 500GB/1TB SSD memory.

I have seen some videos on youtube where they show the difference in speed from SSD to HDD:

Also, there is another video that shows how to open and improve the HDD of your Xbox One:

Now, my question about this upgrade is:

Can I upgrade the internal hard drive to a solid state drive?

If yes, do I get ban from Xbox live for doing so?

I know you can use a 3.0 USB and use an external SSD drive but I am interested in the internal one.

The warranty is not a problem, I'm sure it will be void but I really care about the SSD replacement, if I can be safe after the change and it is possible I would give a try Upgrading HHD to SSD in Xbox One S :).

    Thanks.

    :)

Oh yes, I see what you mean. DECREASE BOOT TIME & INCREASE PERFORMANCE (spellcheck errors) with SSD.

Now back on topic. SSD for System. HHD for Storage. YES, for XBOX ONE!

SSD doesn't decrease boot time, it increases it. Secondly, SSD doesn't have moving parts unlike the mechanical HHD and doesn't need to be considered an extra storage unit, it can be a dedicated unit for which the system operates on. HHD would be considered
the usual, standard object of storage.

    Hi

Please do not update the internal hard drive in the console as this will very likely get you a console ban for modifying the console.

    https://enforcement.xbox.com/home/codeofconduct

Permanent suspension or device ban, if you commit an egregious violation that includes, but is not limited to: hacking, modding, profile tampering, fraud, trading or stealing accounts or Gamertags, severe racial remarks, impersonating Xbox staff, displaying
nudity, repeatedly creating inappropriate Gamertags or profile content, distributing URLs to phishing sites.

  5. You are not meant to modify the internals of the Xbox, which is why everything is behind that warranty seal in the back.
As gds1972 mentioned, you're putting your console at high-risk for a device ban from Xbox Live, as the system will most likely detect a change in the hardware. The forums are unfortunately not the place to discuss or provide support for DIY projects
    on the console.

If you're looking for decreased load times in games, just put your SSD in the USB3 enclosure. I'm doing it right now with a spare SSD I had laying around, and it's pretty nice. The longest load times of games are probably decreased by 20%
(feels like it), but the smaller loading points (progressing to the next part of the map, loading menus, etc) feel a bit snappier. Haven't done much multiplayer yet, but I'd imagine that you're going to be waiting for everybody else to load their maps with
their standard HDDs, cancelling out the benefits of SSD. It's overall not worth the hassle of tearing down your Xbox.

    Keep these things in mind:

    • The only time you're really writing to storage is when you're installing games - that's going to be limited to:
      • Your internet download speed (or rather, however fast Microsoft's servers are letting you download games at the moment)
      • The Blu-ray disc drive read speed (Up to 27MB/s)
    • Good SSDs typically have read speeds of around 500MB/s, or 4Gb/s.
    • USB 3.0 has a max bandwidth of 5Gb/s.

Would Samurai Showdown 3 and 360 Lumines look better on the Xbox One X?

I have a SSD in my Xbox One S currently. Would the upgrade to Xbox One X still make games load faster?
