Upgrading from Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate for 1st time using the 1$ offer

Hi,

I can't seem to find the right answer anywhere. I currently have 3 years of Xbox live gold on my account and I saw an offer to try Game Pass Ultimate for 1$ at Buy
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - Microsoft Store It says on that page:

"What happens to my prepaid months of Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass when I join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?

When you join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, we will apply any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass toward Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, up to a maximum of 36 months.

For example, if you have 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass already on your account when you purchase your first month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you will have a total of 7 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on your account before
you need to renew your membership."

Then to double check I researched and at Xbox Game Pass Ultimate FAQ | Xbox Support, it says:

"What happens to my prepaid months of Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass when I sign up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?

When you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, we’ll apply any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, or EA Play subscriptions toward the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan at the current
conversion ratio, up to a maximum of 36 months. Prepaid time conversion is final, and ratios are subject to change."

So which is it? Do I get my 36 months upgraded to GPU as is for the full 36 months, as the main 1st page states or will it be a lesser amount at some "conversion ratio" as the 2nd page says. Also if that's the case, what does my 3 year old Gold turn into
or does it prompt me first for my confirmation because inflicting a reduction? Can someone who's done this recently in Nov/Dec 2020 or someone from Microsoft please advise. I dont want to my 3 year Xbox Live Gold reduced just trying this 1$ offer.
