Upgrading from Child Account to Adult Account + Custom Gamer Image

Hello people, I have run into an issue on my account where it was set up as a child account and not an adult one and I have yet to find out how to fix that.

The first time I noticed this issue was when I was unable to personalize Cortana on my Xbox. I didn't think highly of it. Now the Xbox beta app is in use and I noticed the custom Gamer Pic setting. When I tried that, I received a pop up that said I had to
be 18 or older to upload my own image. This bothers me a little because I was waiting for a feature like this to be implemented and I am now unable to use it when it is here.

I don't see a point in even having this feature set as 18+. The people that will be affected most by this feature would be the people viewing the images, not the people uploading them.

If there is anyway I am able to upgrade my account to an adult account, It would be highly appreciated. Also, if there is a way to do this, it needs to be placed better then where ever it is hidden.

Change account

so my main account is a child account with my back up being the adult. You can only upload custom images as the adult account so i can't on my main account. Is there anyway to be able to get custom images for the family profile being considered "child"

Also child account being managed by a parent account no mater what your age is, the child account will always be considered a minor's account and not be considered an adult account.

Basically, you have to upgrade your child account to an adult account.

Changing the birthdate under your profile doesn't changes your child account to adult.

Only the parental account can upgrade a child account when the service registers that the account has reached 18+

Unluckily only adult accounts can post custom profile pictures for obvious reasons

if you are an adult, why not verify and upgrade your account to adult. then you can have a custom gamer pic

Did you recently change from an child account to an adult account? If so, you will need to sign-out and sign back in again for the setting to take affect.

It's only custom gamer pics that can't be added without it being an adult account.
