    Upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary and Minesweeper no longer opens


    Yesterday I upgraded my laptop to the anniversary edition of Windows 10. All is good except for. Minesweeper will not open.

    The Solitaire Collection opens fine. I can do the daily challenge buut when I click on the link to Minesweeper nothing happens.

    Can anybody help?

    MS Minesweeper Adventure glitch

    Whenever I play Minesweeper Adventure the last few columns are invisible. This first started when I upgraded to Windows 10. I've got a 1TB harddrive and 6GB of ram, so space is not a problem. There was no problem when I had windows 8.1.

    I also can not access Minesweeper Adventure Mode after installing Windows 8.1. I uninstalled and reinstalled minesweeper. It worked for part of 1 game, and then no longer worked again.

    I have the same problem on Windows 10 version 1607 OS build 14393.693. I have to reinstall this app every time it is closed as it will not run subsequently. It refuses to load beyond the initial title screen.

    Did you recently get an upgrade to Windows 10 Anniversary? If so, did try reinstalling the Media Pack after that?

    That article is advocating "Upgrading" to the latest Anniversary Edition....however, to upgrade you would need to rollback your Windows 10 to Version 1511 to then be able to upgrade it to Version 1607 (the Anniversary Edition). At a guess I'd say that Blog was originally written back in 2016 and then trawled out again last year to earn them more money.

    After quite a bit of troubleshooting, in my case, it was the Windows 10 anniversary update. I've rolled back to the build before and now all ok again.

    Think I'll hold off upgrading for a bit!
