Upgrade my account to Adult

So I have always wanted to change my child account to an adult account because I can not get curtain apps or games! I can't even put a customized gamer pic on my account witch I always wanted to. It would be very nice if my xbox account gets upgraded to
an Adult account

Promoting my Live account to an adult account

Me, being a teenager does not want to get a parent account for my xbox live account. therefore i would like to quickly upgrade my account to adult because i want my own account to be an adult one. please help me upgrade. Thank you

If this is the way it's going to be, if they can't upgrade my account it's really their loss, I am really sorry to have to go. I have always loved xbox and prefered it to every other kind of console including PC but this just pushed me away.

As long as the date of birth you set when you originally made the account is at least 18 years old then you can upgrade your account to an adult account using the steps here:

If you are on an Xbox 360:

Sign in to a child account, scroll over to the Settings tab and select "Account."

Scroll right to the Your Information panel and choose "Promote Child Account." If your account does not have an age over 18, or if your account is already an adult account, this option won't show up.

Choose "Yes" to leave your current game, if you're in one, and then press "Continue."

Enter a new credit or debit card for billing, if prompted. If you paid for your account with prepaid cards or don't have a paid account, the Xbox skips over this step. Even though the system instructs you to enter a new card, you can reenter the same
card information you used previously.

Accept the terms of use and privacy statement, and then press "Done" to promote your account. Sign in to your account again to use it as an adult account.

On Xbox one:

Open the sign-in menu in the upper left corner of the home screen -- or say "Xbox, Sign In" with a Kinect -- choose your current account and select "Sign Out."

Return to the sign-in menu, pick your account again and select or say "Choose This Person."

Enter your email address and accept the terms of use and privacy statement to promote your account.

Fill in a new credit or debit card, if prompted, to replace the one on file. You can reuse the same card you used previously. If you only use prepaid cards on your account or have a free account, the system skips this step.

Keep in mind this will only work if the age you set when you first created the account would now make you 18 years old or older.

This is an Accounts issue and is best answered in
Forum 03 http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/12.aspx but, that being said, lemme help.

Xbox employees (much less the volunteers helping here) don't have access to your password. That's the exclusive domain of the Microsoft Accounts folks. However, I have learned a few tricks you may find useful.

You must have control of the Parental account in order to graduate yourself out of Minor Status. That is inviolate and mandated by Microsoft Accounts, over which Xbox folks have no control. Instead, here's the process which has helped a LOT of gamers:

You have the parental email addresse written down, right? If not, go to the Xbox and try to accept the Terms of Use and it will be shown to you.

1) Take the parental to
http://account.live.com/password/reset for the password reset

2) If you can't reset it, go to
http://account.live.com/acsr SAVE THE EMAILS SENT TO YOU

3) If that fails, contact Support and provide them with the Console ID number from Settings | System | Console Settings | System Info (it's on the 2nd line) and the reference number from the email sent to you in Step 2, and submit a UE Request to have
Microsoft Accounts send you a password reset. It is faster to have the Agent call you by clicking on support.xbox.com/contact-us or you can look up the phone number from the
1st web link in the .sig shown below.

4) Should all THAT fail,

A) If you already have a second Microsoft Account (formerly known as the Windows Live ID) you can skip step B/B1/B2 altogether

B) Make a new Microsoft Account at
http://startup.live.com which after you complete it should lead you to the Account Summary

B1) If you don't get to the Account Summary page, go to
http://Account.Live.Com and sign in there.

B2) If you are prompted to confirm the email address, please do so.

C) Complete the security information by clicking on the Edit Security Info link below. Make sure to add the Security Question down below as well as a cellular number in the Phone Numbers field and an alternate email address which is different from
the Microsoft Account address.

D) Then, enter
go.microsoft.com/fwlink in the address bar of your browser. Fill in the form there, with the subject EMAIL BEHIND MICROSOFT ID IS BROKEN - give a good working email where the Microsoft Accounts support folks can find you. Do NOT mention Xbox else the Microsoft
Accounts folks will drop you like a hot potato. Once you send the email, you should receive a response within a day, the gods willing.
