Upgrade Minecraft for Xbox 360 to Xbox One

Hi Folks,

We bought xbox one last December along with some xbox games. One of which was Minecraft for Xbox 360. Unfortunately, it was not running due to incompatibility issues. Too late for us to return it to the store. My son was an avid fan of Minecraft so he was
playing it only on iPad. We came across a link that if you're a retail disk owner, you can upgrade it to Minecraft for Xbox One for $5.00. This is awesome! But i was wondering how this process goes?

I have ask Microsoft support about this and here is what they say:

- Find an Xbox 360.

- Load the retail disk under your user account (gamertag)

- Save the game

- Export the game to Xbox One.

- Then you can purchase the game electronically for $5.00

Simple as it is but I don't know who has Xbox 360... That's the agony.

So, how can i upgrade my Minecraft retail disk to Xbox One?

Minecraft Xbox One

hi

my son has been playing minecraft, saint row, far cry 4 etc in Xbox 360. is it possible to transfer the games to xbox one? minecraft is an online purchase. rest all the discs we bought from Game.

he doesnt want to upgrade to xbox one but ofcourse we are missing out the new features of xbox one and xbox 360 is getting out dated fast and would value for nothing soon.. ihave few consoles left like that and lying in the garage.. (ps2, xbox, psp etc)..

any advice on transferring the games would be helpful for me to decide on xbox one..

The offer to upgrade Minecraft from xbox 360 to xbox one for a fee has expired. If you wish to upgrade, you'll have to purchase the game for the full price.

The MS support agent already told you the answer. Somebody in your neighborhood, a coworker a friends kid or someone somewhere will let you pop the disc in real quick.

Question, Have you purchased Minecraft on Xbox 360 and connected it to your profile? Also have you tried to Actually purchase Minecraft Xbox One Edition? You should take a look at this post:

Hi, I'm afraid that upgrade offer expired a few years ago. If you wish to upgrade from "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition" to "Minecraft" for Xbox One, you will need to buy it again.

Hi there!

I found a support article about upgrading from Xbox 360 Minecraft to Xbox One Minecraft.

On that page it says:

"Make sure you’re using the Xbox Live account that you used to play Minecraft on Xbox 360.

If you haven't launched Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition since before September 2014, do so. That will apply an update that will help verify that you’ve played the game. After the update, it will take up to 72 hours before the discount offer is available
on your Xbox One."

To be blunt & honest -- There is no point for MS/Mojang to make Minecraft backwards compatible as there is a Xbox One version of the game.

I'm not sure if it still exists, but there was a deal for the Xbox One version of Minecraft if you already owned the 360 version where it would only $5 to upgrade.

Should be $0.99 to upgrade and if your a gold member then free upgrade.
