updating my account to adult

Ok, but this is really getting irritating, i have tried to update my acount to an adult and it has never worked at all in one way. I even change my age on my microsoft account and it still doesnt work
or pop up. i need help reall bad cause its getting irrating. i Have to have to accounts to do anything now even though i only need one, i have tried everything and it doesnt wokr one bit. What do i do ?

@Misses Joust , I was told that if I provided Console ID, Console Serial Number and IP, they would be able to reset the password for me. I'm not going to give up an account I have spent a lot of money on and if Microsoft can't help me it's *** ridiculous
and I'm done with your consoles.

1. The parental account has been inactive for over 6 years I believe, wasn't used up until the moment I am prompted to use it on xbox live. The password has been forgotten ect.

2. I am aware that there is a glitch in the xbox live system that the accounts which were linked to a parental account have reverted back. The account was created with my date of birth and clearly is 20 by this year. I am hoping it is a techincal error otherwise
I can't access my account because the password for the parental account and all information relevant to it have gone.

 

You will need to get the person with the adult account to change yours.

Your Xbox Live profile calculates the age based on the date of birth you provided when you first created the account. Once the profile, according to that date, reaches 18 years, the account can be promoted to an adult account, but not before then - not even
by changing the date of birth on the Microsoft Account, which has no effect on the age of the Xbox Live profile.

This may be frustrating but I hope this clarifies the situation.

For all child account, parental account is need to change the necessary settings. You can do this online or using the console. If you're using an Xbox One, it will automatically promote the account to child, for Xbox 360, you need to manually do that. Just
what Maxen13 said, the system will base whether your account is already on adult from the first information you provided you created the account. There are instances that the child account was not properly promoted so you may need to contact Xbox Support for
them to check and promote it manually.
