    Updating Minecraft on Xbox one


    Hi, I have an old Xbox 360 that I have been playing Minecraft on and updating periodically for the past several years. Recently, it has been having problems so I thought I would try to get my Minecraft worlds on my brother’s old Xbox one. I discovered
    that the Xbox one Minecraft app is not updated near as much as the 360 was, since I had been using it more often. This made it impossible for me to import my worlds. I tried to update it but it says there are no more updates to apply. How can I get the Xbox
    one to update the app?

    If you are referring to the 'Minecraft Xbox One Edition', the update wasn't for that. It was for 'Minecraft'.

    If this is the old version of Minecraft for Xbox One (Not the new universal version, there is 2 titles of Minecraft on Xbox One) the old version does not have the new title updates. It stopped at content update 44

    The
    Minecraft Fall 2017 update     united all Minecraft device versions and added a number of enhancements, the biggest one being that you can now enjoy Realms, Marketplace, and online play on your Xbox One console. This version is now known as “Minecraft” on the
    Xbox One. The new Minecraft comes packed with newer features and capabilities and is where all future updates and features will appear. The older Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is no longer supported with new features and will not be receiving any updates
    or new DLC in the future, but you can continue to play Minecraft: Xbox One Edition if you wish without updating.

    If you indeed own the digital version, there was
    no cutoff to update to the new version for Minecraft     which should appear in the Updates section of the Ready to Install list if you are connected to Xbox Live. I suggest checking your

    Microsoft Account order history     to confirm the digital purchase of Minecraft Xbox One Edition.

    In this case, either you played the game using the physical disc and never updated to Minecraft, or the game was purchase on a different account which is why it is asking you to buy Minecraft after uninstalling.
