Updating minecraft 1.12 disc to 1.18 on Xbox 1

    Updating minecraft 1.12 disc to 1.18 on Xbox 1


    I got a Minecraft disc for the Xbox 1 about a month ago from a Movie Trading Co store, but it was in 1.12 (version said 1.2.8) (maybe im just guessing based on features). I want to play 1.18/1.19 and so on, but don't want to re-buy the game. Is there a way to do this, and how?

    If you’re talking about the original Xbox one edition, there is no way to upgrade it. There was a free upgrade program in place for several years, but that was over a long time ago

    Minecraft Winows 10 - Minecraft

    On July 9th 2019 they released an official update to Version 1.12 of Minecraft.

    Your friend would have to launch the Windows 10 store on his PC or go to the Update tab of "My Games & Apps" on the Xbox to force an update check of the game.

    After he also updated to 1.12, you can play together again.
