updates!!??

hi every one

i have really slow broadband 2mb, it is just fast enough to play online games (cod mostly) but with a maximum download of 256KB/S updates can take ages, this was one of the reasons i had to get rid of my ps3 as system updates could be 200MB+ each and
very often then put a game in which you havent played for a while and that had to update too, so i kept the 360 which had much smaller updates and less often is still the case with xbox one?

Yes it has updates don't really see your question if there was one there though

 

does xbox one have huge games and system updates? or are they small like 360?

 

Don't expect to have 50 mb updates (game/console),on current gen systems.....

200 mb for an update,it's a (very) small download.

Xbox one got at least one system update every month + time to time, updates for apps and games that you own.

But it can be download while the console is in stand by mode.

 

They're generally huge. Dashboard Updates for Xbox 1 happen roughly every month since Launch. Xbox 360 Dashboard Updates are smaller and only happen around once every 4 months or so. Wait until you see Game Updates for Zoo Tycoon, Minecraft, COD, BF4, etc,
they hit the GB range 1/2/3 or more GB. This is to accommodate for the higher texture graphics etc. Anything under 1GB/down I consider is Dial-up speed. The monthly system updates have been around 187-300MB. ADSL Broadband Speeds in NZ average 7MB/s down best
is around 14MB/s down. If you live in a city I'd consider changing ISP but if you live in a rural-ish area that maybe why your ISP can only give you 2MB/s down for ADSL. Minecraft X1 edition got its first update a few days ago, about 320MB.

 

yeah 2mb is the fastest i can get in my area jesus if games start getting GB's worth of updates id be there all day. so it looks like which ever next gen console i get my broadband is to slow........might just stick with the 360

One of the updates for Dead Rising 3 was 13gb in size, so the massive updates you fear are already here.

It's honestly better to stick to the 360 until you get a quicker connection.

 

If you have you one set up correctly, it will download in the background whenever the update becomes available and your game will be ready to play when you turn it back on

 

13gb would still take 8 to 10 hours at the OPs internet speed. So there is a good chance that it would still be downloading when they returned to the console.

 

True, but at least it will have made some progress.

 

I would shop around for a better ISP... I mean I am sure some satellite services are faster than what you have
