updates to xbox one S

Hi has anyone else had trouble with there Xbox one S after the updates as mine has destroyed my new 3 terrabyte usb drive had to go buy another usb hdd now most of the time just to play i have to restart the box 2 to 3 times so the usb shows up again not
only that game on disc that i have tell me i do not own the buy in store only work after restarting now the xbox is as slow as hell and getting worse every time it gets updated

Preview Program

I had my Xbox One on the Preview forever and still is. I bought an Xbox One S and added it into the preview. My Xbox One has the update for Clubs Etc but my Xbox One S has the other preview back in Sept. Anyway to get them on the same preview? Tried manual
update and nothing to show to update

I had similar problems with normal usb thumb drives - xbox is not so compatible with many of them, even being usb 3. But work being game disk on 360 - but not work at all at X1.

Some that never worked right, was visible only after reboot and such. Some showed correct total space, but nothing free and available - and similar.

I would check before buying - a compatibility list - if there is such a thing.

I very much doubt xbox update destroy drive as such.

I had updates on PS3 long ago, 2012 or so, that suddenly made backups take 16-20 hours instead of previously 2-3 hours.

So they threw out code for efficient backups in favour of new Vita console stuff that needed space in flash roms.

But drives worked the same on pc - so this is one example how an update can affect your drive.

To take advantage of 120Hz, you'll need an Xbox One X or Xbox
One S running the Xbox May 2018 Update. So as far as the original Xbox One it sadly is not a possibility.

Hi,

What game or games does this message pop for? Many Xbox One games have updates specifically for the Xbox X. If your Xbox One game has a 4K assets update for example, you'll be prompted to download this when using the drive on the Xbox One X console.

The Xbox One S and original Xbox One don't support X-enhancements, so you won't be prompted for that update when using the drive on the One S.

it is bizarre that I have the exact same setup as you (Xbox One S and LG UH8500 - technically mine is the 65" - you might have a bigger or smaller set) but I have not have not received updates to either the Xbox One S or the LG recently...Both are on auto-update
and I'm in the preview program. You might be in a quicker preview ring....
