Updates that aren't updating anything

I'm in the XBL Preview Program. I will sometimes get updates that don't actually do anything. For instance, yesterday I was on update 1409. Today when I booted up my XB1 I had a 2gb update. I downloaded it, and was still on 1409 afterwards. So what
did I just download?

Also, I still don't have the friends tab on the dashboard. I thought everyone in the preview program was supposed to have that by now?

Queued Items

I have several items in my queue that aren't updating. I have enough room, 632.7 GB free for all so how do I get them to update?

XBOX LIVE not working

Can't sign in, but it gave the dash update... I'm guessing it's the system updating

I think they are releasing new patches for the updates to make them run smoother using our feedback. I think that's why there are so many updates. They are just updating and patching 1409...well, anyway that's my speculation. I have my Xbox on Instant
On mode, so it automatically downloads those updates whenever I'm not using the console so I don't have to wait when I boot my Xbox up.

VCIZE you should be asking this question on preview forums, the friends tab was only released to a few and not available to all previewers yet, as stated in announcements in the preview forum.

If there is an update to the game and you are declining it, it will disconnect you from Xbox Live until you accept the update. It also could be something wrong with your internet. If your internet speed is slow enough, it can kick you offline. So make sure
you aren't downloading anything or using anything that could be majorly hogging your internet.

Actually, I just realized you're only on the One aren't you? The website has not been updated to show Xbox One activity on the gamercards yet. That's why yours isn't showing anything.

The patch should release on yours and other's xbox device's in a few hours or even days. Make sure on the game you go to Check for Updates to make sure you aren't missing anything.

Several people have posted that this update is not for everyone. It comes out for a few this week, everybody else next week. You aren't missing anything. I took it and haven't noticed any differences.
