updates kicking you out of games without warning.

As the title suggest this post is about getting kicked out of games in the middle of playing just to have your Xboxlive updates. It would be real nice if you gave us an option to save or finish up what we are doing instead of costing us time and data. I
am fed up with this. Give us some warning. I am tired of losing time and data because someone at your update office can't be bothered to give members a heads up and time to save what we are doing. I don't buy any of your garbage games and this is why.

Fix your (Mod Removed - Inappropriate) before you lose another user to playstation.

It's down right insulting when you put up the option to continue offline knowing full well you can't play any online only games offline...........

You force us to keep the system connected all the time, the least you could do is allow us a five minute timer or something like that so we can save what we are doing instead of getting screwed.

Playstation has better games and better service, remind me again why am I still with you? Nothing but the free to play games are worth any time.

I won't be buying anymore xboxs if this doesn't change.

Game updates kicking you out of the game.

I was playing Dragon Age Inquisition at 3 am Pacific time when right in the middle of play the game decides to try and patch. After patching I had to reload the game and ended up losing some progress. I personally think that this is a pretty stupid way to
do things. I could see it working like it does on 360 where it just disconnects you from Xbox live but removing you from the game entirely is asinine.

 

Canceling an update of a game will accidentally uninstall it!

If you cancel an update... and clear the update queue... that will auto delete the entire game without warning...

Not okay.

This is an extreme bug.

Please separate these things.

 

Are you in the insiders program to get new dashboard builds before others? If you want to stop these frequent updates you can un-enroll from the preview program through the preview app.

Also, you could turn the option off for automatic updates in the power settings but you will still need the latest update to play online multiplayer.

Before you go shouting about this that and the other sit down, take a breath, and calm down.

Ask yourself a few questions,

1: Are you in the insiders program where you can beta test the latest dashboard versions?

2: See number one

That is pretty much the only reason you will be kicked out of games, there hasn't been a new dashboard updated for quite a while.

If you want the latest dashboard then you have to put up with regular updates, you make the choice, keep the latest dashboard and put up with regular disconnections or remove yourself from the insiders program.

 

Turning off auto update won't help, typically Insider updates are forced between 6-8 hours after release. Best option is to manually check in settings, update as soon as you boot up the console. The OP should be checking at Xbox Insiders
as that will have the date of each build and which preview ring is getting it.

 

Set the console to instant on. Updates will typically run when you're not using the console and you will never notice them. I've been in the Insider program since it started and never notice updates.

Also, you're not forced to be constantly connected. You can set your console to offline.

 

Mine's instant on and auto updates sometimes plays up. Having a quick check on start up is painless, I do it by habit now.

 

Talk down to someone else. You don't have the right to tell people to calm down. You don't have the right to decide who's anger is justified or hyperbolic.

I have every right to be upset when I pay for a service that does not warn me when it's going to update. Especially, when it has booted me out of games at least once a week. That's BS. I pay money. Warnings would help resolve this and seem more than reasonable.

Insider program or not. It doesn't' take much intelligence and foresight to say, "hey it would be nice to allow players the option to save before we kick you out and force an update on your console". Feels pretty practical to me.

Fix it Microsoft. This is not a request, but a condition of my continued subscription.
