    hi, i know i've seen a lot of people have this same issue and i have a few friends who deal with it too. basically, whenever there's a game update or if i'm downloading something from the store, if i "shut off" my xbox (which just puts it into sleep mode), nothing will continue downloading. sometimes it works and if i download a gamepass game, for example, and shut off my xbox, it might have continued downloading and finished by the time i turn it back on. but not always.

    i have the common settings for this issue set up properly so i don't know why it won't work

    • make this my home xbox - CHECK
    • keep my console up to date - CHECK
    • keep my games & apps up to date - CHECK
    • when console is off, turn off storage - UNCHECK
    • enable remote features - CHECK

    if anyone has any suggestions that would be great! thanks in advance, y'all.

    GUNNER 26: Are your games on disc or are they digital downloads?

    If your games are on disc the xbox will download the patch in standby mode, but wont install the update untill you put the disc in and load the game. This is normal.

    If your games are digital it will (should) download AND install the update whilst in standby.

    thanks that's all right, I didn't have patience to wait the download start on standby mode and turn off the xbox.

    One last question, How long I can stay the xbox in standby mode downloading contents?

    It is what they mean as it'll still download games and title updates when it's in standby, aka "offline mode".

    In settings if I go to sleep mode and startup it only gives me the option for standby or energy saver
    Standby puts the console into a lower power state and continues to download/update games.

    Energy Saver turns off the console. In Energy Saver it's not possible to download games or updates.
