    Updates again????


    It's not often that I get to sit and try to play games. The last several times that I've sat down, either the console itself or the game has had to update. I had about an hour to play right now, so I fired it up and found that Call of Duty infinite Warfare
    will not run before it pulls in a 19 gigabyte update. Why the hell does the game need to update every time I want to play? It's super inconvenient that I can't just throw a game in and play a game when I have a few minutes. Pardon my language, but this is
    a s*** system and you should be able to skip an update and just play the same game that you played last time you sat down. Probably won't ever buy a Microsoft-based console again

    Updates again????

    Set the console to instant-on mode. Updates will usually download while you're not using the console so you'll rarely notice them.

    On a Sony or Nintendo console, on the PC, if you want to play online then you need the game to be updated to the latest version. This is a simple fact of playing online these days.

    As to single player doesn't the One have an option to cancel an update if you don't want to do it at that time? I have my console in instant on mode as well, so I can't be 100% sure of course but I could have sworn that it did. Cancel and play or simply keep
    your console offline while playing single player titles.

    Hi CoastKey,

    There's a bunch of solutions worth trying here for such an issue:
    support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help

    One extra solution I would attempt would be to delete the system updates and redownload, by using these steps:

    - Go to Settings --> System --> Storage

    - Highlight your storage device but do not select it

    - Press the following buttons in order: Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X Button, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X Button

    - You should be prompted to clear any updates. Select yes, and restart when prompted.

    - Once restarted, redownload the updates.

    Give these solutions a try. Let us know if you continue to have problems after these, or if one works let the community know which! :)

    Hey, sounds like the problem is with downloading an update, which is why you keep having to go through the procedure. You might want to try the steps

    here     to see if that resolves the issue.
