Updated drivers for the wireless adapter for Windows 10 available on Windows Update

The newer drivers have been released and updated on the website. Please right click the network adapter in device manager and choose to Update the driver through Windows update or download manually from Microsoft Update Catalog
choosing the one appropriate for your chipset (the one on the 15th is x86 and the one from the 3rd of November is AMD64).

XBox One Wireless Adapter Driver (BSOD)

In addition drivers for the wireless network adapter for Windows 7,8 and 8.1 have been released (available at the same link or via Windows update). Please note that audio, peripheral devices or firmware update is not supported on Windows 7,8 or 8.1, only
on Windows 10.

Turn your computer. Allow the computer to start up and then hook it to your router or modem with an Ethernet cable. You will need to have access to the Internet in order to download updated drivers to run the wireless adapter.

Plug the USB wire on the wireless adapter into the USB port on your computer. Windows 7 will pick up the new hardware automatically and then attempt to search for drivers. Windows 7 will have generic wireless adapter drivers that it can use, but it is best
to use driver specifically designed for the adapter.

Run Windows Update by clicking on "Start" and then "Windows Update" in your program directory. The updater program will come up as a pop-up menu, Click on the "Optional Update" tab and then click on the check box next to the updated drivers for the wireless
adapter. Click on "Install updates" to install the updated drivers.

Restart the computer when done. Unplug the Ethernet cable once the computer has restarted.

The driver still crashes my computer.

 

To help out Microsoft, best to let know them know what kind of error message, step by step, etc of how the crash happened

Then how about either the Windows or Xbox team decide who's going to support situations like soft-bricked controllers from bugs in the Xbox Accessories app? There's quite a few people, myself included, with controllers stuck in DFU (device firmware update)
mode to no fault of our own from failed firmware updates via PC.

@FallibleOdin70, an update to the app is forthcoming to enable fixing DFU devices on the PC. I will message this on the other thread as well, so you're welcome to respond there

@NickB6913, I'm not seeing the dumps uploaded yet for 1.0.23.0 version of the driver, we would not be able to investigate that without it showing up in the system.

catalog.update.microsoft.com/.../Search.aspx choosing the one appropriate for your chipset (click on each link for the driver released on 12/8/2015, to confirm the chipset, x86 for 32bit and/or amd64 for 64 bit).

Woah so the wireless adapter now works with 7, 8, and 8.1? I'll tell my friends.

 

I'm having a problem on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 I with the mediatek driver too. I installed it and just had the device manager go online and find the driver. I've had several crashes, an instant reboot and I just woke up to a reboot and crashdump.
