Updated controllers,now not turning on. fuming!!

I have just updated both of my controllers having played project cars because I had heard that this can help cure some of the sensitivity issues with the game. However after attempting to update one, it stopped at 5% and the controller went off, now it wont
come back on. Tried my other controller to see if it was just the controller or the battery, updated it, and the same thing again. So no controllers, just forked out 50 quid on a new game, cant play it. To add insult to injury I've been told by support I'm
3 months out of warranty and I'll have to pay for 2 new controllers. Really not happy with this, I could accept it if it was because I kept dropping the controllers or throwing them around, but all I did was try to update them, which shouldn't be a feature
which makes controllers immediately in need of replacing.

Is there anything else I can do or am I resigned to just coughing up the 80 odd quid for two controllers.

(obviously I only need one controller, but I keep two for two reasons, for playing with my friend on FIFA, and to switch to once one is dead)

Really sorry about your controllers not working after a attempted controller update. Dropping the controllers may have had something to due with the malfunctioning of the controller during the update. But that cant really be confirmed. It's strange because
I updated my controller only a day ago, worked perfectly. The controllers may have had software failures during the update, which probably made unable to power back on. All of this just sounds plain awful. The only way is to purchase new controllers if they
cannot be repaired.

I am personally sorry about this. No-one would like to pay 50 dollars for a controller and have malfunction. I know I wouldn't.

 

My first suggestion is to buy a non Xbox brand USB cable. Not a cheap one.

Plug it into the Xbox one with the controller and try to update again.

If you're using the play and charge kit...that cord has caused me a few problems and even a very similar description to your issue. After using another cord this resolved my issues on three controllers for 6 months so far
