Update Xbox account email...Epic account pointing to wrong Xbox email

Hello,

I'm trying to help my son and with my database background I could fix this in an instant in Epic's database, but obviously I don't have access. Epic's first line of help is struggling to understand the simple issue, so instead I might be able to fix the
issue with essentially the same action through Microsoft's Xbox accounts...

He created an Epic account that is pointing to the wrong Xbox account. It's actually an account that we have access to and has never been used (0 activity). Epic communicated that his desired Xbox account is "headless" and provided instructions to give
it a head. Those instructions require creating an Epic account with a never been used before email address with an Epic account, which is at the heart of the issue. A never been used email is fine, but the Display Name he wants is associated with his existing
Epic account so, when giving the account a head an "Already Taken" message for Display Name would appear during creation, which is to be expected.

All Epic needs to do is update the current associated Xbox credentials with the desired ones, however their support doesn't appear to be technical and do not have the ability to update their database. I've asked my request to be forwarded to a supervisor
or a technical person, but it doesn't seem like that will occur. The last communication from Epic was to verify the Epic account's email address via a link (which I did)...and that email is exactly the same one I've been using to communicate with them all
along.

So....

If I can change with Microsoft the email address associated with the desired Xbox account to the undesired email then Epic's database will point to the desired Xbox account and my son will be able to keep his desired Display Name with both Xbox and Epic
plus have access to his Xbox account through his existing misconfigured Epic account.

I have access to both emails associated with the 2 Xbox accounts in question...There is simply a typo between the 2 emails of both Xbox accounts...

Is it possible to delete the undesired Xbox account and then reassign the desired Xbox account's email to the undesired's email address?

If I can swap the email on the desired Xbox account to the email of the undesired Xbox account then there is no need for Epic to change anything because the undesired email is currently associated with that Epic account... They don't seem to be capable
or unwilling to update the database values.

To be clear I have:

Xbox account 1 with email 1 [desired account]

Xbox account 2 with email 2

Epic account with an undesired Xbox account associated with email 2 (Xbox account 2)

I want to update Xbox account 1 to have email 2 and don't care what happens to Xbox account 2.

Your instructions have update the email then delete the account but, there is little chance that could work because two different Xbox accounts will be pointing to the same email...Doubt if that is possible.

Is it possible to delete the undesired Xbox account and then reassign the desired Xbox account's email to the undesired's email address?

in my example:

delete Xbox account 2 update Xbox account 1 with email 2

Now Epic association with email 2 points to the desired Xbox account 1 updated to email 2...

Ho i have an issue whwreby i seem to have two profiles conected to my ema address. It could benthat one was against my original old hotmail email address but for some reason my xbox displays the account that i want but when i go into Microsoft foe otjer
tjings it recognisesnthos other profile. This became apparent when trying to set up an epic account to play Fortnite with my son who has playstation. Please can someone look into my profile. I dont recogt the other account which is attached

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are having issues with accounts. You can

change the primary email on the account you want. Then delete the account you don't want. You will need to get with Epic on unlinking account and do that before you switch emails.

is the email you used to make the epic account the same of your xbox account? you have to use the email of your epic account to sign in.

My epic account and the xbox account were the same email address so with the help of epic support we changed the epic account email address so that will be able to redeem the two v-bucks!

After redeeming them i got the 25 character code i tried to put them in the xbox it says it is used by another account!

The epic support asked to get the xbox support to inform me to what account was the secondary code redeemed!

So that they can initiate a transfer!
