Update Wiped Accounts From My Xbox

After updating today I had to put in my region and time as if my Xbox was brand new. After doing that I find out that every account on my Xbox was gone. Why did this happen??

xbox live update

i just downloaded the xbox live system update and when it got done downloading i went to sign in and it wiped all my accounts from my box and even unformatted my hardrive any suggestions?

My son tried to do his system update on saturday and it wiped out two accounts on his xbox.

Hi, did you opt out of the preview program recently ? if so then your Xbox will have been factory reset when the Xbox was removed from the preview which may explain why you had to set everything up again.

Hey Menty - it sounds like you just want to prevent whomever purchased your console from using your account,and not exactly file an unauthorized access claim, correct? If so, you can change your password, then remotely require that password be entered on
that console to log in, effectively rendering your account inaccessible by whomever is using it now. For steps on how to perform this, check out "Password Protect your Xbox LIVE Profile Remotely" in the following link:
