    Update Requests- Ability to transfer saved game files


    One thing that I would love to see in an upcoming update to Xbox One is the ability to transfer save files to external storage. Right now, there is an option to do so but it seems to be broken (I've tried with both FAT32 and NTFS file systems). Some games
    don't allow additional save slots without erasing the main one and having the option to move the original game save to an external device to preserve it would be nice to see.

    Crossplay is not an issue, but play anywhere potentially is. On 360 many of the CoD/GTA hacks were profile/saved file based. What this means was a player would transfer their save to the PC (using USB/transfer cable) and modify the files. A modified console was not required.

    It is my understanding that it's not possible on XB1 yet, but with Play Anywhere's save transfer, it could be. So in theory someone could start a game on PC, mod their save file to give all perks, cars, etc. then transfer that back to their Xbox. I would assume that at some point MS will have some sort of save file verification when transferring save files from PC to Xbox and vice versa.

    Hey ! We do not have the ability rollback to specific saves in that way. You may want to follow up with
    2K as they may the ability to help from their end. Post back and let me know how it goes!
    Hence:

    - the cloud saves are useless for me,

    - any copy of saves not on the local XBox can do more harm than good,

    - the only application for the cloud saves is the ability to transfer them to another XBox.

    I did contact 2K first but their support was rather insulting as they concluded the problem as solved by giving an answer on how to recover the MyCareer file

    when I specifically told them that what is missing is the Created Players.

    It seems the biggest flaw is that there is no working way of backing up save files so that this would never happen...

    Hi there,

    Nothing can be transferred between accounts including gamerscore and purchases. Some games may allow you to transfer game saves, but it disables the ability to earn achievements on that game save.

    System Update Recommend Transferring all game saves and files to external hard drive and using the working internal hard drive as a back up drive that way the game saves and files are portable and you don't lose any data from the internal hard drive.

    If I can ask. Why doesn't anyone just use a USB Flash Drive to Transfer their Game Save File Data and simply DL all their Content again from the Marketplace? The DLC will have to DL'd again anyways for a License Transfer Request,
    why not just do it all at once?

    Just asking because even with my 180+ Games on my History, I don't have more then 16Gb of Save File Data for my Games. Most of the 250Gb HDD is taken up by Game Installs and DLC.
