Update reinstalls the whole game and if canceled uninstalls it.

I bought Destiny 2 on Microsoft Store and was playing normally on my PC. Today i launched the game from the Microsoft Store and a notification message (in game) asked for an update. I closed the game, went to "Installed" tab in Microsoft Store and the "Update" automatically started. I noticed the size was the same as the full game (close to 100 GB). I tryied canceling it and Destiny 2 has been uninstalled.

Any thoughts? I mean... i don't want to have to reinstall 100GB everytime this game gets an updated version.

This answer does not address or clarify the reasoning of having to re download the entire game for a small update. I am having the same problem and am having to download the entire game for an update that stated it was less than 1gb.

Unfortunately when you cancel an update the game is removed, I'm afraid you will have to redownload the game again.

If you canceled the update that means the game will completely uninstall. You most likely will have to reinstall the whole game. Which is basically the same size as the update anyways. Its like 40 GB.

Everything else should be fine.

I noticed that if a game is updating and you cancel the update the game uninstalls, I'm just wondering if you guys are getting updates automatically and there's something going wrong, I manually update, when my BF4 updates it shot to 98% and seemed to stop,

As it took ages I cancelled the update, what happened was I had to reinstall the whole game, just a thought for you all.

that's normal, when canceling the update it uninstalls the whole game. Next time, simply pause the installation.
