update payment option

I try to log in my xbox live to on line and it tells me to update payment option because my membership is suspended until I update it so I do hit next thrn done then it tells me that mu payment info has been updated I hit oki go back to the game try to play
on line and it tells me the same thing again my current profile is not allowed to play in xbox live.

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

my account has been suspended like this but i have gold and it says i have to buy another. why?

http://billing.microsoft.com to see if all information is correct there.

Also check your subscription status, if it still shows 'suspended' then you might need to contact Xbox Support
support.xbox.com/contact-us

If the subscription status and payment option are fine on the link, then please try clearing the cache

1. Clear the console cache, see this link for the how to:
support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

2. Restart the xbox console (optional)

 

Hello I have tried everything you have said to do still didn't work i cannot update my payment option from my computer which is wrong i should be able to especially when all these errors popup have cleared my cache 4-5 times restarted my xbox probably close
to 50 times in the past 3 days trying to update my payment option i put this new card on there because i knew my bank closed my other one on my account and every time i try to update it this dumb error pops up im very very aggravated and this shouldn't be
an issue ive been on xbox 7 years now been threw 3 different accounts btw. thanks for permanently banning them =( and this has never happened in all the 7 years ive played this seriously make me regret wasting 500$ of $ I didn't have to get the new system

if you experience payment option issues like this that you can't seem to solve yourself the best thing to do is to contact Xbox Support via
support.xbox.com/contact-us they will be able to fix it for you.

Also be aware that it's always better to create a new post for your issue in the forums instead of posting in one that you didn't start to get the best support.
