Update my child's permissions

We just purchased XBOX Live for our son and need to change his permissions so that he can invite and play with friends. I have spent the last two hours trying and I have not found anything to be of assistance. When on his XBOX I only see his brother
as part of the family, this child does not show. PLEASE HELP!!!! We are all getting very frustrated.

Child's account - grant permission

I am trying to grant permission for my son to play Roblox on his Xbox one. He has downloaded the app but when he tries to play, it says he needs to change his privacy settings to see other users content. I worried about unlocking too much and have read that
I can grant full permission just for a particular app. On the support pages it says very simply, "choose who will grant permission to use the app". I can't find that screen. When he plays it doesn't give him any option to ask for permission. How do I allow
him to play? How do I grant permission for particular apps?

Add a New Member will provide steps on how to add him to your family. The child account will need to be associated with the parent account in order to change the privacy settings. Once the account is added to the family through the console, we recommend

The update from child to adult account will be in automatic when the servers calculate that the account is 18+ of age. Till then your parental account can give permissions to your child account

Microsoft recently issued a mandatory system update that requires a parent to give a child permission to sign on to Xbox Live. The reason for this is because Microsoft has to adhere to the law of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). The charge
of .50 is for parental verification and there for permission for the child to be online. The .50 charge is donated to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. There was also a mandatory update for UK users as well that has changed the way billing
is handled on the system.
