Update kill the 360.

So after an update Oct/14/2015 (about when I got it) my system froze. zero responce from ANY pariferial device. eject and power where/are still working. So now when I start my system it gets to the end or just past the xbox loading screan and then a full
system sto, once and a while it will get to interface/guie. no error codes. no lights (controler pluged or unplugend) same results with and without game in system and/or controler, and/or the External.

I have one (1) controler.

I have one (1) external storage device (non xbox/microsoft) Western Digital 500Gb

My system is an Xbox 360 S (4Gb)

:)
probably more like 40% of the time is spent
Funny, I turn my console on, hit A, and go back to playing the game I have in the DVD drive...
Depends entirely on who's determining intent.
It's jargon and has a
farily specific meaning. If someone wants to say a firmware update bricked DVD drives in a console, that's fine. To date, there's been no update from Live that renders a 360 console
inoperable.

Well, i didn't even WANT the update...i had kept my console totally original from 2007 right up until November 2011, when i brought a new game Halo Anniversary...which loaded the NXE update to my console (i had no idea this was happening until i quit the
game and got the shock of my life) I suddenly had all this stupid, childish avatar rubbish all over my screen and i could no longer play all of my 11 xbox games...WTF?

Posting about this on here has already gotten me banned 4 times, obviously, they don't want others to know that a long time customer (who's spent thousands on their products) is very unhappy about their tampering with my personal property...

To add insult to injury, when i call them on this, they just trot out the same old answers...sorry but you didn't play those games because they aren't on our list...and sorry, but we don't support those anymore (like they have any right to disable my property
from working with legal copies of xbox games)...

XBOX is a joke, they have NO idea how to treat customers and couldn't care less whether you loose out in their update roulette, as long as your console has the latest update...all ready to consume more of their products, which they probably won't support
next week...

Hi there Guilty!

To test, can you power off your console and remove your USB storage device? Once that's removed try turning your console back on, if you're not having any startup issues with the external storage device removed try plugging it back in with the console.

If you're still having trouble be sure that you disconnect your console from the internet before powering on in order to see if your network is affecting startup.

Let us know how it goes Update kill the 360. :)
Sweetie, if my disk drive doesn't work, I consider the console a brick.
What you consider to be bricking and what bricking stands for are two different things. Bricking a device means rendering it inoperable. Given that more than 50% of a Gold users's time is spent using apps for media playback and not gameplay,
a disabled DVD drive does not render a console "bricked".

MS also replaced all affected consoles. It was a temporary issue for a small number of consoles.

So in other words you just get a kick out of arguing about semantics? Try actually being helpful for a change.
